Questions and Answers

Hi, my daughter sings and I would like to surprise her with this offer. She does not play an instrument. Should she bring her music on DVD? Also can she be recorded or is this just a place for her to sing.

Here is the answer we received directly from Blue Light Digital Sound: "We regularly work with young people who want to record themselves singing. Most of our clients choose instrumental or karaoke tracks of popular songs that are readily available online. You can bring the songs on a CD, Flash Drive, or even email them to us in advance. During the session, we will import the songs into our recording software, and record your daughter singing along. After she finishes recording the songs, we will mix them and render them to a CD for you to take with you." Have fun!

Do you get a miixed demo at the end of the recording session? What is the format of the demo? Does time setting up equipment count towards the two hours?

Sorry for the delay! Here is the answer we received from Blue Light Digital Sound: "After we finish tracking, the actual portion of the session in which we capture the performance, some of the two hours will need to be allocated to mix the recordings. The amount of time needed to mix depends on the type of material. For example, mixing a solo acoustic guitar performance takes less time than mixing an entire band. We will be as prepared as possible for the setup in terms of setup time. If you plan on recording drums, we will have the studio kit set up and ready to go. When you make your appointment please let us know what you plan on recording so we can set up as much as possible before you arrive. The sessions are recorded into Pro Tools 10. We will gladly provide you with copies of the session files if you bring a portable hard drive."
