"Bodies Revealed" Exhibit: Niagara Falls, Canada

"Bodies Revealed" lets people look at a place many never thought they’d see: inside the human body. Real anatomical specimens are preserved on display to provide an up-close view of the skeletal, muscular, and circulatory systems. The exhibit blends science and art together into a fascinating learning experience, with docents available at each stop to answer questions. Bodies are posed in several positions, including swinging a golf club, so visitors can see how bodies work in everyday life. Breast cancer, obesity, emphysema, and other health conditions are also highlighted so visitors can learn about these issues and see the tolls they take on people. While there is no age limit for the exhibit, its organizers suggest that children attend it with a parent or teacher. An audio guide is available for an additional fee, and the specialized teacher's guide won the Distinguished Service to Health Education Award from the American Association for Health Education.
