We don't teach Hobie Cat catamaran lessons but the Utah Sailing Association may be a good place to contact. We do do a cruise to Catalina every year on a big Lagoon 38 Catamaran and it includes instruction on how to operate it for those who would like to charter a big Cat in the future.

Hi - I would like to buy this 2-hour lesson for my husband, but wonder if me and my two kids (ages 14 & 17) could come along just for the ride (not for lessons). If so, is there an additional cost for the three of us to come too?

The most people we would like to have on the boat for the Discover Sailing is 4 so you could purchase the 4 people option. Another option would be to purchase a Family Sail for $125.00 where your husband could learn and you and the kids could enjoy. Unfortunately we don't have much room for extra people on these offers. Are you BSA Small Boat Sailing merit badge councilor? What would the cost be for five instead of four?

We are working with the BSA and will probably do merit badges in the future as we add smaller boats to our fleet but we do not offer the merit badge right now.
