Hi, I'm glad you asked this question! No you do not need a partner! The dance is very social and people are encouraged to dance each song with someone new. It's not mandatory, but the culture is such that people dance with everyone and there are plenty of people who come to the dances by themselves. Also, the beginning lesson, we rotate partners throughout the lesson.
