If flowers stopped growing, bees would have no way to make honey and little girls at weddings would walk down the aisle tossing handfuls of tree bark. Smell the roses with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

$25 for a dozen roses (a $50 value)

$149 for a petite bridal package (a $375 value), which includes:

  • Bride’s bouquet
  • Toss bouquet
  • Three boutonnieres
  • Two bridesmaid’s bouquets

$219 for a large bridal package (a $585 value), which includes:

  • Bride’s bouquet
  • Toss bouquet
  • Five boutonnieres
  • Four bridesmaid’s bouquets

Classically romantic roses come in many hues; place your order three days ahead to secure the colour you’d like. Pick up your bouquet of roses in the store, or florists can deliver for a $10 fee (not included).

For wedding packages, brides and grooms sit down with the florist two months before the wedding to plan colourful bouquets bundled from their favourite flowers. For a $10 delivery fee (not included), the staff will deliver the blooms on the big day.

The Grand Gesture

Georgette flushes till she matches the colour of the curlers coiled all over her head. She pulls the neckline of her robe closed. “That’s it!” she says. “That was the last time I let you saw me in half!” She slams the door shut and the frame of the Toronto Star article about us jumps off its hook and clatters on the tile.

“I’m going for a drive,” I say to the door. Behind it, the bath water starts to run.

Things didn’t use to be like this. For one thing, the van used to start when I’d turn the keys, but now I’ve gotta sweet talk her, too. I cruise downtown past the sandwich shops, a guy selling watermelons out of his truck, the auditorium where we debuted the noose illusion we spent months perfecting. Wait. A front window, alive with colour. I make a sharp turn.

The shop’s filled with bright colours and the smell of Georgette’s bubble bath.

“Lilac,” I tell the florist.

The van coughs and sputters as I turn off the ignition. The door makes no noise as I push it open. She’s on the recliner, daubing at her midriff still raw and red. I point the hat’s opening at her and tap my magician’s wand on the brim. She looks up, startled. Her eyes go narrow when she sees it’s me. I tap again. Her eyes glare up from under here eyebrow, then widen as I pull the bouquet from my hat.

Botanic Florists

Roses come in many colours, each shade with its own associations. The staff at Botanic Florists will assemble dozens of the classic blossoms in practically any hue that nature produces. The florists also specialize in wedding packages and will arrange every flower needed for nuptials, including bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids, and boutonnieres for empty buttonholes. If a customer wants something that's not in stock, the staff will acquire it, even if it means travelling back in time to steal a sunflower from Van Gogh.

The Groupon Guide to: Your Fashion IQ

How much do you know about fashion? Find out with this scientific quiz:

1. What's the most important fashion accessory?
A. An eye-catching necklace
B. A dazzling scarf
C. A funky fedora that screams "fashion sense, adventure, and fashion sense"

2. Which fashion basic should you never leave home without?
A. Pants
B. Shoes
C. A fedora
D. All of the above, but intentionally minus the pants and shoes so your fedora stands out even more

3. How many fedoras are you wearing right now?
A. Enough
B. There's no such thing as enough fedoras

ANSWERS: The answer to this quiz, like the answer to all questions, is fedora. Unless the question is a history question, in which case the answer is probably the Teapot Dome scandal.

Do you have enough fedoras?
