Participants settle into a local eatery or wine bar armed with brushes, paints, and a 16"x20" canvas. One of Bottle & Bottega’s instructors then leads them through the steps of painting a particular piece in the party-like atmosphere. Paintings vary and have included renderings of multihued bicycles, the Eiffel Tower at dusk, and a van Gogh–esque striped vase full of red poppies. Artists can bring home their work afterward. Bottle and Bottega's host of painting packages include add-ons such as catering, cooking lessons, wine tasting, live models, and personalized party decorations. Check the schedule for class offerings; Bottle & Bottega hosts classes at a variety of local venues, but will open its own studio soon.

Bottle & Bottega La Grange

Stephanie King-Myers and Nancy Bigley founded Bottle & Bottega as a fun, artistic space where guests could, as King-Myers phrases it on their website, “feel like they’re having a party in their living room.” Established in 2009, the guided painting emporium has already expanded to six main locations in two states that offer private and corporate events alike.

La Grange owners and dedicated community members Paul and Meg Lefaivre were ecstatic to bring Bottle & Bottega to their neighborhood. The Lefaivres, along with a slate of local artists, encourage participants of any artistic level to unleash their creativity onto the canvas, creating their own versions of famous paintings that they can hang in their living rooms or over their bathroom mirrors in an attempt to be famous themselves.
