Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties
Since first opening its doors in 1970, the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties has become a haven where kids in grades 1-12 learn to be the responsible, successful adults of tomorrow. They achieve their transformation with the help of the club's 1,800 hours of annual programming, which make times for everything from homework and tutoring help to a robust selection of athletic leagues.
In addition to enrichment, the club also ensures that all kids have access to the services they need the most. In 2006, the club partnered with Salem-Keizer School District, Northwest Medical Teams, and local dentists to establish its Health Services Center. There, kids of all ages get their basic healthcare needs met through the joint efforts of these conscientious adults. With eight locations spread throughout the club's three-county jurisdiction, youths from all over the area don't have far to go to find even more of this help or encouragement.
