Is this a Chicago deal or a Portland deal? (Picked Chicago but the body says Portland….)

Is this a Chicago deal or a Portland deal? (Picked Chicago but the body says Portland….)

Mary B.

Yeah, seriously…this sounds like an awesome deal for locals, but I’m not so sure how “awesome” it is when you factor in airfare, lol. sigh

Brent L.

The details say it’s valid at all locations, and there’s one downtown. “Portland” might just be a bad cut-n-paste?

I would like to know exactly where it is. I want to purchase a few but with out that info I wont.

I would love to buy several of these, but I’m unsure of the location. Please update and advise.

Nick C.

Hey guys sorry for any confusion this is good at any Chicago area locations. The Portland thing was a typo and it is now fixed.

& I can pick one of the 9 treatments, with nothing more than $185 to pay? No hidden costs, fees, etc?

There is nothing stated about a number of package purchase limitations? Are there any? Did I miss it?

Someone needs to call Britesmile and tell them their website isn’t working! Can’t reasearch this one – can’t buy.

Christine C.

Yeah, the website needs to be fixed ASAP….a fully functioning website is kind of necessary.

Pamela K.

I purchased this deal last time it was offered for teeth whitening and just used it 2 weeks ago at the Britesmile in Woodfield Mall. There were no hidden fees and it was awesome.

Nick C.

@Kristin – Correct no extra fees or costs, 1 of the 9

@Carrie – You can buy multiple per person, no limit

Note: It seems like the britesmile website is getting overwhelmed with the “Groupon effect” so its pretty slow/unresponsive right now. Keep trying!

Thanks again

I always check the reviews for each company / restaurant selling a coupon via Groupon before purchasing. Wow, this company has a lot of negative press. Is Groupon guaranteeing that this company is legit and that the negative press is false?

Thanks, Nick. I’ll try back later → GREAT show for Groupon, eh!!

Shelley P.

I wanted to buy this deal when it was offered in New York a couple of months ago (that’s where I live now), but I’m planning to move to Chicago in a couple of months and they said I couldn’t start treatment at one location and finish in another.

The terms seem to be different this time; if I buy the New York Groupon and start at a Brite Smile in New York, can I resume treatment in Chicago when I move? When I went for a consultation they said it would take about 8 mos total. Thanks!

Bonnie M.

Can you purchase more than one?

Michelle T.

@ Shelley P- Yes you are more than welcome to start treatments in New York and transfer your remaining treatments to Chicago. They are able to electronically transfer your computer record, as well as your paper chart.

@Bonnie M- there is NO LIMIT to the amount of groupons you can purchase with this deal!

Michelle
Brite Smile Regional Coordinator

Bonnie M.

I purchased one as a gift and now I’m trying to purchase two more, but the site is not allowing me to purchase any more! What should I do to purchase more?

Courtney B.

I bought this deal last time, and have being doing laser hair treatments at the Downtown location and everyone there has been AWESOME!!!! I can only speak about my experience but Ivana (downtown) has personally being doing my treatments and she is wonderful. You will need 6 treatments on each area so buy more than one package.

I’m interested in the “Three women’s laser hair removals”… would be nice if the company’s web site was working!

I want to know if removal of hair from one area (say, underarms) can be done in one treatment, or if you need to go more than once for each area. This greatly affects how good a deal this is! :)

Paul L.

I have money left on my flex spending account (FSA) that I need to use by Dec 31st. I know FSA covers dental cost. Does anyone know if this is something I can charge to my FSA?

Jennifer M.

If you purchase more than one, can one person use them? (i.e. Can I use 2 groupons and get 6 treatments?)

Beth b.

It say this deal can be “used at any location”…does that mean I can use it in a location outside of Illinois, say Wisconsin or North Carolina (gifts)??

Michelle T.

@ Jessica G- for laser hair removal 6-9 treatments are recommended. You are able to purchase multiple groupons to cover those treatments.

Michelle T
Brite Smile Regional Coordinator

Ada W.

It does seem like a really good deal. It’s hard to get the detail, however, when the company website doesn’t work… I called the downtown office earlier and tried to get more information. My call was passed around between a couple of staff members and then hang up on after about 10 minutes hold time. It may be that the office is overwhelmed by the Groupon ad. But if this is any indication of the customer service, I am having some doubt about how good the deal really is. Having more information with the ad will be nice.

Paul,
You asked if this is covered under FSA? Cosmetic procedures are not covered under flex. Furthermore, I doubt the providers here are MDs (although I could be wrong), so even if you did convince the FSA administrators that this isn’t cosmetic (good try on that one), they likely wouldn’t even be covered providers.

Last year, I had extra money in flex and purchased a whole bunch of stuff from Walgreens (Tylenol, cold and flu care, a new thermometer, ice packs, etc.) Walgreens (or other drug store) can let you know what is FSA eligible. No reason to lose your money!

Ilene

Hi ~ Was curious if only one treatment is needed for the teeth whitening to get your teeth up to 14 shades lighter? In other words, will I need to purchase more than one groupon? Thank you!!

Laura C.

Hi Nick…just curious if a dentist oversees the whitening procedure?

Beth R.

How long will 1-60 minute teeth whitening procedure last? I really want to get this done, but only if it lasts for a while.

Keren Z.

I was looking at laser hair removal on various competitors’ websites. They say the treatments should be 7-13 weeks apart. Keep this in mind if you’re thinking of buying two (or three) of these since the groupon expires in a year. You could not do 9 treatments, properly spaced, in the span of a year.

Marisa P.

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to remind you all that 10% of all proceeds are going to the Dress for Success women in need foundation, so this is a wonderful cause, and a perfect way to give back for the Holidays! As mentioned, there is no limit on the number of packages purchased per area, so this makes an excellent gift to you and your loved ones!

@ Ilene and Beth, we do recommend a complimentary consultation with our medically trained staff to evaluate your teeth before determining the number of treatments you may need. The biggest factors, typically, are lifestyle habits: drinking coffee, wine, smoking; age and heredity can also play a roll. If anything, I would recommend getting at least two whitening treatments. How long it lasts varies from person to person, but ultimately, it’s how you maintain the results that will make it last longer.

With that being said, we always recommend future touchups, so I would encourage you to take advantage while it’s at the amazing price!

@Laura, yes, our dentists oversee the BriteSmile teeth whitening procedures!

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks,
Marisa P.

Jennifer V.

Is tipping customary/expected at Britesmile? I know policies at medspas can go either way. Something to take into consideration on a $1,197 procedure.

Susan G.

Do you have lasers for hair removal that can accomodate people with darker skin?

Michelle T.

@Jennifer V- Tipping is at the descretion of the client, and by no means is mandatory

@ Susan G- Yes, our lasers are the Palomar Starlux and are safe for all skin types.

Hi,

I am very interested in the laser hair removal. Can I use it on my arms, even though that is not one of the listed regions? Thanks!

Beth b.

It say this deal can be “used at any location”…does that mean I can use it in a location outside of Illinois, say Wisconsin or North Carolina (gifts)??

Michelle T.

@ Lauren W- Unfortunately, they are only valid for the areas listed on the groupon. However, please feel free to contact us for additional promotions on the areas you are interested in.

@ Barb B- They can be used at any of our Brite Smile locations listed on our website. At this time, we do not have any locations in Wisconsin or North Carolina- However, there are some locations in Illinois that are not too far from the Wisconsin border (about 30 minutes)

Michelle T
Brite Smile Regional Coordinator

I think the reason people are having trouble getting to the website is because of the links may not be 100% correct. When clicking on 1 of the 9 options, it takes you to:
http://puremedspa.comhair/ or http://puremedspa.comskin/photofacial.php or some other options. When I go directly to www.puremedspa.com, I can get to the site and navigate the site. Please verify if I am correct or not.

Laura S.

@ Michelle T –
If I purchase 3 groupons – to receive 9 womens laser hair removal – and only end up needing lets say 6 or 7, can i use the remaining portion of the groupon for another type of procedure?

Matt S.

Hi – How many visits does this cover and how many would you need for the teeth whitening? Also, how does it compare to the teeth whitening deal on www.wegivetoget.com that is for $129? thanks!

Nora A.

I can’t speak for the other whitening deal, but the Brite Smile treatment is just 1 treatment for 1 hour. I had it done about 4 or 5 years ago and I’m getting it done again. I did notice results after the treatment. I think back then I paid around $250 or $300, so IMO, this is a good deal.

Elizabeth A.

Could you please confirm the equipment used to do hair removal is a laser (and not IPL)?
Thanks!

Michelle T.

@ Laura S- You would be able to use your final groupon on another area of hair removal if it has been started. For instance, if you have used 7 of 9. If the groupon has not been used AT ALL, you would be able to choose one of the 9 services.

@ Elizabeth A- Some locations have the IPL technology, some locations have both the laser technology and IPL technology (Old Orchard). The main difference between the 2 types of equipment is client comfortability. With IPL technology, the energy pulses out, to where wit the laser it is a straight beam of energy. Therefore, IPL tends to be a bit more comfortable

Hope this helps,

Hey Everyone!

It is an amazing deal! I have gone to Brite Smile in the past for laser hair removal and teeth whitening and I must say that I absolutely LOVE my results. The staff was so friendly and professional, answered all of my questions before the treatment, and made me feel very comfortable. I started with my bikini and underarms and I loved the results so much that I decided to continue with lower legs. I fully completed all my treatments now, and I can honestly say that I am very happy with the results. I would definitely recommend Britesmile to anyone!

Stephen J.

I know several people that have had the teeth whitening done; all have been very happy with the results. This is a good deal but it is not the only promotion that there will be for Britesmile. The savings on hair removal is an AMAZING deal. Laser hair treatments are not 100% and multiple treatments ARE required, the vast majority of individuals will be very pleased.

Shelley P.

IGNORE Oxana’s posting! It’s an employee. If you look up Britesmile on Yelp, you will see that EXACT review posted in 9 different cities from the same account.

Shelley P.

http://www.yelp.ca/user_details?userid=qx8c7wH6U_-qRd-fwempWg Here is the link to the fake postings by the way.. interesting how they were all done yesterday. Makes me wonder what kind of company this is if they are trying so hard to use fake reviews to trick customers.

If I bought this could I use it at Britesmile locations in Boston area?

Travis R.

Does the $185 for men’s hair removal only pay for ONE of the regions listed? i.e. if you wanted to do shoulders (tops and blades), upper back, and lower back, you’d need to spend $1,480 to $2,220?

Elizabeth

I actually go to thr location off Michigan Ave. I have had my teeth whitened, IPL on my face and hands, and fractional laser on my chest. I have been incredibly happy with all my procudures. I can also tell you I paid a heck of a lot more than $185!

Shobha R.

i just wanted to say that i think it is wonderful that part of the proceeds are going to charity! this is an added incentive to support a company that is invested in it’s community! just bought a bunch for me and my sister! would love to see more deals like this, where not only can I save, but I know I am helping others out.

Michelle T.

@ Kathy G- Generally 6-9 treatments are suggested for hair removal treatments.

@ Michael A- Yes, this is able to be used at our Newbury location

@ Travis R- It is one area per groupon, but you are able to purchase multiple groupons if you should choose to treat multiple areas.

Hope this helps,

this is my first time purchasing a groupon. how long in general does your order take to process ?

Michelle T.

@ Nichole R- Your groupon is immedietely sent to your email box for printing. You then bring the groupon in with you to your first appointment.

THERE ARE A LOT OF HORRIBLE REVIEWS ON THE WEB FOR THIS COMPANY!!! Is Groupon really going to back all these packages purchased if this goes bad?? Especially with this “unlimited” package special?

Ellen H.

I was totally about to purchase this until Shelly P. pointed out the fact that “Oxana” wrote raving Yelp! reviews about each of the Chicago locations just YESTERDAY. Just copied and pasted the reviews. Obviously, groupon was getting ready for a large influx of people to be reading their yelp reviews. Also, the michigan ave location has really bad reviews, terrible service, etc. Even though the deal is amazing and I’ve wanted laser hair removal but haven’t because of the price…I just don’t trust this place.

Ellen H.

Whoa whoa whoa you guys. Check out reviews online (non-yelp). This place seems shady as hell. http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/pure-med-spa-c62979.html

Folks – I’m with Ellen! I really would like to trust this company and take part in this deal, but I’ve been burned before by a similar laser clinic and it’s painful to lose all that money without getting what you paid for. They are NOT a BBB Acredited Business AND recieved and “F” rating!! I’m VERY disappointed Groupon is promoting them. Groupon – shouldn’t that be a requirement to at least be in BBB’s good standing??!!! C’mon guys we trust YOU!

Please read for yourself – Search either Britesmile or Pure Med Spa – not good!
http://www.bbb.org/chicago/business-reviews/dentists/britesmile-in-chicago-il-12010046

Victoria

Hi guys!

@Carrie G. I agree to a certain point that perhaps Groupon should screen these companies a little better. However, ultimately it is up to the consumer to decide weather we want to take the deal, or not.

@ Marisa P. Sorry Marisa, but have to disagree with you here about the dentist overseeing the proceedure. I have been there twice and have talked to other patients there. There is NO dentist on the premises. As a matter of fact, it is not even a hygenist who performs the proceedure. Just someone who was told where and how to put the goop on and where to point the light. THAT’S IT!! When I went back to get my dental remimbursement for signed. They stalled for a while and the “so called” doctor said he wasn’t qualified to sign the document.

@Laura – I had this proceedure done in September. My health is great, I don’t smoke, rarely drink and it’s gone!

I personally will never to this again. Wasn’t even worth the $189 I paid (through Groupon, by the way) because it didn’t last more than a month. I also work in the field and several people in our office have tried different variations of whitening…not work for long. You’re better off getting the strips!

Brian

Hmm I ordered a two packages earlier, starting to look like I should cancel my order….

Beata d.

BUYER BEWARE……..Mall med spas are hit or miss. They generally have a high staff turn over, under trained techs and the physician or dentist overseeing the operation is usually not on the premises. Get the MD’s or dentist’s name or license number and check their standing with the state department of professional regulation. Lasers are not idiot proof, an under trained tech can cause burns that will cost thousands in damage to your skin. Some laser damage can never be repaired. There is a reason there are so many negative reviews. The only totally reversible procedure is the microderm, an under trained tech can’t really cause permanent damage. If you ever watch any of the plastic surgery disaster shows on discovery health channel, the common denominator is that they were all done on the cheap.

Thanks for all the feedback! I just canceled my order, I researched this company and realized they have a horrible rep.

Michelle T.

There is 100% a dentist on site at both of the Chicagoland locations (woodfield and chestnut) 100% of the time. In addition, the procedures are completed by the dentist and dental assistants. The dental assistants have all worked for Brite Smile for over 5 years.

Michelle

andrea

Michelle, what about Old Orchard? There isn’t a dentist there?

I was about to purchase two of these but now after reading the absolutely awful reviews, I think I’ll wait for the next similar Groupon.

Michelle T.

@ Andrea- old orchard does not currently offer the teeth whitening treatment, but will in the near future. The 2 locations that offer teeth whitening in the Chicagoland areas are at present are Downtown Chicago & Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.

Michelle

andrea

Gotcha. Michelle, can you explain the bad reviews? I mean, has anything changed at your business since all of the awful reviews were written? They make Brite Smile look really, really bad.

Michelle T.

@ Andrea- I have worked for the company for over 6 years and can assure you- we really try our very best to make sure every client gets the best results and customer service possible. Our staff is highly trained and we utilize state of he art equipment. Its unfortunate that there are bad reviews out there, and I wish that I personally had the opportunity to make things right for them. What is even sadder is that there are thousands upon thousands of people who have had great experiences with both Pure Med Spa and Brite Smile, but positive reviews are rarely posted.

I am more than happy to answer any additional questions you may have, and I hope I have been helpful thus far.

Nancy Y.

@Victoria and Andrea, I wanted to share my positive exerperience I have had with brite smile, although it hasn’t always been a “pretty picture”. I’ve been a client at the Woodfield location for several years now, back when it was a pure med spa. I can attest that there was some negativity and tension toward the “end” before they filed for bankruptcy. Honestly, I was reallly worried what would happen to the packages I purchased and hadn’t completed. I was afraid I wouldn’t get a refund like some horror stories I heard about.

However, when brite smile purchased it, they moved to the upstairs location and honored all of the treatments for exisiting clients. I can only imagine how much out of pocket that cost them, so I have nothing but the upmost respect for that. At that point everything truly changed for the better and I continue to be a life-long and committed client.

I now get my teeth whitening there with Dr. Laurie, who is a dentist, and I absolutely LOVE her!! I reallly can’t say enough good things about her and her entire staff, and that’s why I’ve continued to support them, no matter what the media or “bloggers” may have to say.

I can only speak from my own personal experience. If I was a new client, I would most likely be in the same skeptic boat as you, which is why I wanted to reach out to you all to share my feedback….the good, bad and most importantly, the truth about how I’ve been treated.

I’m very nervous and very confused. I am NOT interested in the teeth whitening but am interested in the facial services. Here’s my questions.
1. Is the company Britesmile or Pure Med Spa?
2. I’d be going to Old Orchard. Do they have a medical director onsight AND present at all times?
3. Are the people doing the treatments licensed esthiticians? And, llooking at 75% of the esthiticians, are they icensed from your “school” or elsewhere?

Although this sounds like a good deal, if they scar my face for life, it isn’t such a good deal.

Now, on another note, per Better Business, there were only two complaints filed. I would have expected more. It appears Britesmile didn’t respond to one complaint (SHAME ON THEM) but for the other, BB appears to feel Britesmile made a good effort to settle.

Wow, this one is hard. I purchased two packages, but am considering cancelling due to all the negativity.

Michael K.

I did the teeth whitening treatment at BriteSmile through Groupon on the last go around. I went to the Gold Coast facility and could not have been more impressed nor thought I got a better deal. The place was exceptionally clean and well run. I met with a dentist (older guy, forgot his name) and got cleared for the treatment. The assistant who did the application was great. I just bought this Groupon for my sister because she always wanted to get BriteSmile.

It’s worth noting that I am a personal injury attorney and have prosecuted multiple dental malpractice cases. If I thought there was something shady or improper about this place, I’d be the first to say so and raise holy hell about it. I can’t say anything about any of the other locations but, again, I had a tremendous experience at the Gold Coast location.

Michelle T.

@ Sue W- the company was previously Pure Med Spa, but was purchased by Brite Smile in April 2009. I am very familiar with the staff, including the staff at the Old Orchard location.
The skin care procedures are done by medical aestheticians who have gone to state accredited schools, and have been licensed by the state of Illinois. Also, I can tell you that the staff at Old Orchard is amazing, and most have been there for over 7 years!

What skin improvements were you looking to make? Maybe I can answer additional questions for you- I would be more than happy to.

@ Michael K- Happy to hear about your great experiences, and we look forward to treating your sister with the same professionalism and provide her with the same great results!

Priyanka K.

I want to use the Groupon for the 3 Laser Hair Removal treatments but I will be going back and forth between New York & Chicago. Can I initiate the treatment in a NY location and then schedule the follow up sessions at the Chicago Woodfield Mall locations?

Michelle T.

@ Priyanka- you sure can. They can electronically transfer your client record to the location of your choice.

Katy

I just got the teeth whitening done from the last Groupon deal about a week ago at the Michigan Ave location and it was great. A really easy process, and the results were great. The staff was wonderful too!

andrea

Thanks for responding Michelle.

For a non-smoker who doesn’t drink red wine and very rarely drinks soda, how long would the teeth whitening treatment last for? I saw above that you recommend buying 2 treatments, does this mean that 1 would not last very long?

Kathryn, how long did they say it would last?

I am still interested, though the negatives do still make me worry. I’m sure you understand.

Michelle T.

@ Andrea- Whitening results generally last well over a year. There are options for at home care to help maintain your white smile- brite smile toothpaste and whitening pens. These are suggested, but my no means mandatory. I personally use the whitening toothpaste- it is not gritty like the other whitening toothpaste options out there.

As for the 2 groupons- I suggest this for laser hair removal, as 6 treatments are suggested for best results. For teeth whitening, you would be totally happy with one, but are free to buy more as gifts.

I completely understand your questions and concerns, and I am here to help you!
Do not hesitate to contact me if you should have additional questions.

Hope to see you soon,
Michelle

Joy B.

I am super interested but need to know – what if I wanted to be completely hairless – FULL bikini, total legs, and underarms – could I buy enough of these packages to do enough treatments to do this within a year period? How many would I buy? Is this even possible with this deal (or can I NOT do upper legs and full bikini regardless of number of treatments?) I would plan on going to the Old Orchard location. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you!

Michelle T.

@ Joy- the groupon is only for the areas listed, but the locations are always having promotions on the additional areas you may be interested in. You would be able to purchase for underarm, lower legs, and bikini line. You would then be able to upgrade to full bikini in the spa, as well as upper legs. Their number is 847-677-7010.

I just got a deal from Chicago Beauty today for a FREE teeth whitening if I buy a $100 gift certificate. Any one hear of Smiling Bright?

d.j.

I have heard of them, in fact I just did a 20 minute teeth whitening service. I got the 20 minute service for $89.99. I also got a free $50 gift certificate to use for my next application, and a free take home teeth whitening kit. They were educated, professional, informative, friendly and provided a first class experience.

Sandra M.

this a great deal! I did have HAIR LASER REMOVAL treatment at the Clark location when it was still PUREMEDSPA…. It took well over a year to get the 6 treatments… since it has to be spaced out 6-8 weeks between treatment but I tell you that it doesn’t eliminate ALL hair, but my hair growth is considerably only 10% of the ORIGINAL and I paid well over $2000 for a BIKINI and UNDERARM… as for BIKINI, they sure did the FULL monty! and I am happy! As for the Teeth WHitening, I also did it one treatment for me this year and I paid it for $150 but that was a special promo at that time as well and without the promo is $300 I think!…. so get a lot.. AND REMEMBER THE PACKAGE says here 3 TREATMENTS for hair laser so if you buy two you’re going to get 6 treatments!… that’s still a saving compared to well over $2000 I paid in 2007!

Joy B.

Michelle – thanks for answering so quickly – is there any way you could give a ballpark? How much would I pay (using this deal) if I wanted to plan on completely eliminating my bikini, lower leg, and underarm? Or – in other words – how many “sessions” should I purchase? Are you suggesting that I would use this deal for those areas then just pay separately for the upper leg and “full monty” bikini? (I also left a message at the number you gave – hopefully they can also call me back tomorrow.) Do you have any idea how much those sessions can typically cost? (Is there any way that I could just get a whole “kit and kaboodle” package deal?)

Joy B.

One other question – if there are only a few locations where these can be used – and you only have 1 year to use them – HOW are the few locations really going to be able to fit everyone in for treatments when they want to be scheduled? In other words – how can over 1000 people have their schedules accomodated by only a few sites? What are the chances that I won’t be able to get an appointment when I really need one – or with the frequency that I need it?

K M.

Michelle, I am interested in laser hair removal for my legs and plan to go to the downtown location. On your website, it doesn’t specify which laser you use but in this comment string it looks like only the IPL is available at this location. I’ve heard that isn’t the most effective for hair removal and that other lasers are better. Is there a place on your site that specifies which lasers are at which locations so that I can research them to determine what you have to offer?

Michelle T.

@ Joy B- I would suggest 2 groupons for each area you are interested in. In regards to accomodating. This is the 4th time we have ran a groupon – and our 5 Chicagoland locations are open 7 days a week to accomodate. When you are in for your treatment, you always schedule your next treatment to assure you get the most convenient time possible for you. If you are unable to do so, we suggest setting up your appointment with at least 2 weeks notice.

@ K.M – They utilize the Palomar Starlux www.palomarmedical.com

I should note that the guarantee I am interested in are for the laser hair removal.

K M.

Michelle, thanks for your quick response. One quick clarification: do you have the Palomar Starlux laser at the downtown location? Thanks!

Michelle T.

@ Michelle K- With laser hair removal there are no guarantees offered. However, for best results it is important to stay on the proper intervals. With the face you should be getting treated every 4-6 weeks. For the body, you should be getting treated every 6-8 weeks.

@ K.M.- Yes, they do.

My sister and I used the coupons at Old Orchard Shopping Center today for underarm laser hair removal. They haven’t update on the name change, so it still exists as Pure Med Spa. We had two different aestheticians. I had Claire and my sister had Argentine. Claire was really nice and professional answered all my questions and she finished probably between 10-15 minutes. My sister also had no complaints about Argentine. The only thing that bugged me was that Claire said that it was ok for me to shave, while my

They also had a sale today (after christmas sale perhaps?) for $75 laser hair removal for bikini line, lip, underarm, and chin and I’m assuming it’s for one session.

Ok, I have purchased this Groupon and have now been canceled on two separate times and am not receiving a call back to make an appointment. I have left NUMEROUS messages. This is absolutely ridiculous and terrible business. My co-worker was canceled on three different times, and by canceled I mean she got there and she found out.

Is anyone else having these issues with the Pure Med Spa in downtown Chicago? This is the poorest customer service and business practice I have sever seen.

OMG YES! i have left 5! FIVE messages because i need to reschedule my appointment thats in 2 weeks- I started calling 3 weeks ago! NO REPLY CALL! now the clark st location isn’t answering their phone. I got 2 groupons in hopes of patronizing them for a long time, but this is ABOMINABLE service and I wish I could get my money back!

Courtney E.

I too have had appointments cancelled numerous times and have been trying to reach there over the last week by calling regularly, but no one answers. I even walked by the Michigan Ave location during regular hours and the doors were locked. I tried calling all other locations in Chicago, but no answer at those 3 locations either. Am I ever going to be able to use these services???? If not, I need a refund of the 2 groupons I purchased. Please help!!

Stephanie

I am having the most challenging time using this Groupon. It may expire before someone from Pure Med Spa returns my call. No one has ever answered the phone or responded to my voicemails. I am completely dissatisfied and assume that I will be refunded if I am unable to utilize this Groupon? Please advise.

Jean c.

My appointment was cancelled about 3 weeks ago. I had an appointment downtown. They called me and said that the Dr. was out and I needed to call back and reschedule. I asked him why I couldn’t just reschedule right now? He said he didn’t know when the Dr. was gonna be in and to call back next week. I did, and like other people on here, have not gotten a person on the phone, left messages numerous times and then called the Shaumburg one, and just got their voice mail as well. I wish someone would tell us what the dealio is so I can stop wasting my time. Get my money back or have me groupon honored somewhere else, I don’t care, but at least something!

Kim C.

Ditto! I’ve left 3 messages and no return calls. Sounds like a lemon. They’re giving groupon a bad name.

Courtney E.

After dealing with the same issues with the company (cancelled appointments, no return calls, rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional manager (Kelly) at the Michigan Ave location, inability to reach anyone at 8 locations in IL and CA during normal business hours, inability to reach or even leave a message with the regional manager, corporate office, nor COO of the company because their voice mail boxes are full, etc) I reached out to Groupon with my frustrations. I was MORE than pleased with the response from Groupon; they refunded my money without delay. Now I don’t have to deal with whatever the company is going through ever again (according to the Michigan Ave manager and the regional manager, they are not at liberty to disclose what the issue is with the company)! Anyway → PROPS to Groupon, you’ve gained a trusting customer for life! Thank you Groupon!!!! You truly understand EXCELLENT customer service and going above and beyond! Tony K. you ROCK!

Andrew F.

I WAS SCAMMED this place doesn’t answer there phone and i want my money back terrible terrible that groupon attached there name to this business didn’t they see all the reviews on the company before sounded like groupon wanted to make some money on the side too!

Elizabeth A.

Evidently the salon has a new phone # 312.787.0235.

That phone number has been disconnected as well.

Onyedikachi I.

OMG!!! I thought I was the only one with this issue. I’m glad I came to figure it out. They never answer their phone calls! Supposedly, they booked an appointment for me today but I can’t get in touch with anyone. Nor do I want to drive all the way up there to see a “Closed” sign.

Valerie N.

In case you missed the mass email — BriteSmile is apparently out of business. You have to call GroupOn to get a full refund.

Monica B.

Thanks everyone for all the research and comments. Glad I came here to check out the issue first. Goodness, I had been leaving messages for months!

I just tried contacting them too. Never got notice to ask for a refund!

Same here. None of the numbers listed are working. The website is not functional or useful at all.

I’m SO disappointed! This is the second groupon that i’ve purchased where the company has gone out of business shortly after utilizing groupon. Seems like a lot of companies use this as a last ditch effort to increase sales before going under. I won’t be buying anything from this point on unless i’m planning to use it right away. So bogus….

Sayali K.

Is there any way we can get a refund?

Laura W.

Have been trying to schedule an appointment and found they did go out of business. How can I process a refund?
