Chicago Bubble Soccer Tournament
The Chicago Bubble Soccer Tournament puts a collision-inducing spin on an internationally popular game. Players compete in games of soccer, following most of the traditional rules, with one major exception: they're encouraged to knock their opponents to the ground. That's because each player is encased in an inflated bubble from the hips up, safeguarding them from injury while fulfilling their dreams of living as a hot air balloon. No goalies prevent shots from flying into the net, as keeping one's balance can be as difficult as confusing a goaltender. The tournament exclusively features co-ed matches that encourage players to compete with their friends or make new ones.
The game was first seen on a Norwegian sports show, and has spread to other parts of the world including Italy and the United States. It even made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
“Be prepared, even if there is negative 20 degree weather (literally), the trip will go on. ”

“Very informative and inspiring presentation on 3D printing in the Garden Room of the Montclair Bistro restaurant. The only hitch was that there was only seating set up for about 25% of the people attending this 1-1/2 hour event. I had to call the front desk of the restaurant to find out where they kept the extra chairs. A few of us then set up the chairs ourselves a few minutes before the presentation started. Even then, about a dozen late-comers still wound up standing in the back. ”
“it was very informative - the setting for the experience was comfortable but crowded.”
