yes it is very family oriented!
take my grandkids all the time!
6 pm is fine. We take the kids there. I think most come for the hamburgers anyway! They are awesome. I just bought 2 coupons because I think this is the best hamburger in town. They also have some video games if you let your kids play. No problem though if you take the kids!
By Golly’s thrives on being family friendly. It can’t be used with Groupon Certificate but Kid’s eat Free Monday thru Thursday 5:00 to 7:30 and Sunday’s from 11 am to 10 pm. There are Video Games to play and a pool table.
I bought my Groupon today and realized I couldn’t use it until tomorrow. Since we’ve never tried this place before, we decided to go anyway and save the coupon for next time. This place was horrible! The food was good, but the service was awlful. You think going at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon would be a good time. The place wasn’t very busy, perhaps the server was new. The bartender told us we could sit anywhere. We decided to go out to the patio—walking right through the bar/dining room area. We looked at the menu for 15 minutes and were never served, so we decided to go inside. Once inside, about 10 minutes later, the server took our drink order. It took another 25 minutes before she came back to take our order. Instead, she was busy cleaning dirty tables. Once I put my purse on my arm, ready to go to the bar and pay for our drinks and leave, our server came to take our order. The food was good, however her lack of attention to details was horrific. My kids (teenagers) asked for mayo for their burger—their food sat for 10 minutes before we had to ask AGAIN for mayo. The server then took my son’s drink to get him a refill—oops, she forgot to bring his drink back. He had to ask AGAIN to get his drink back. One last thing—during happy hour they have a buy one/get one free appetizer. When the bill came, we were charged for the second appetizer. She had to correct our bill. Not a good experience, so I came home and promptly cancelled my Groupon order.
Nancy C.. – I am the General Manager of By Golly’s and am friightened to hear of your experince here on Saturday afternoon. I would love to discuss it with you so if there is any way you can contact the restaurant and ask for Mike I would be very thankful. This is not the way we operate our business and will not be any time in our future. I appreciate you letting us know the details of this situation. I will do my best to make my employees understand this can not happen and won’t happen again.

I love By Golly’s! Our service has always been very prompt and friendly. I can’t say anything negative about our experiences there, and we (the family) have been a number of times. I was excited to see the Groupon, and snatched it up immediately. Thanks for such a fun and friendly place to dine. :) The burgers, BTW, are the BEST in Cincinnati!!!!!
Great Breakfast!
A stiff bloody mary was just what I needed to start the day. The food was good, I reccomend the potato bowl with salsa and sour cream. All at a fair price, even after I made sure to take care of my waitress Amy, she’s a doll!
I know where I’ll be next Saturday!
My husband and I went to By Golly’s with our Groupon on a Monday because the burgers were half off. That is what we bought the Groupon for, since they were on the list of the 40 best burgers in Cincinnati. We also went in the afternoon, because the apps were B1G1. When we got there, we were told the taps weren’t working and the beer was warm. We told the waitress we were bummed because we really wanted a pitcher of Miller High Life. She said she could bring us bottles, and we were O.K. with that. Then we got our 2 apps and 2 burgers and we were really excited that we were going to get an awesome deal. Our bill came and we handed over our Groupon. This is when our waitress told us that the Groupon couldn’t be combined with any other offers, which it says in the fine print, so we couldn’t use it for today’s bill. We pouted. She said she could charge us full price for the apps and burgers, and so that is what we had her do. All the food was awesome, but we couldn’t help leaving with a bitter taste in our mouths because we didn’t get pitchers of Miller High Life, didn’t get B1G1 apps and didn’t get half price burgers. I now know better to read the fine print on the Groupon. At Arthurs, we were allowed to use the Groupon on Burger Madness day, so we didn’t think anything of it when we went to By Golly’s. Oh, well.
I am going tonight and in the actual description of this on the groupon site it says this CAN be used towards daily specials so if they do not let me use it on Burger Night I will be asking for a manager or contacting Groupon.
As the General Manager of By Golly’s I would like to inform all customers what “not valid with other offers” means. It can not be used with daily specials (ie. 1/2 price burgers, kid’s eat free, buy 1 get 1 apps, lunch specials) or any other offer By Golly’s may have. All items must be rung in at full menu price for Groupon to be used.
ONCE AGAIN IT MEANS ALL ITEMS MUST BE 100% FULL MENU PRICE TO USE A GROUPON.
By Golly’s apologizes for any misunderstanding that other Groupons may give people at there businesses but that is how we took “not valid with other offers” when we set this up with Groupon.
Mike B., It clearly states in the verbiage of the groupon that this discount can be used for daily specials.
If you are in fact now declining to honor the groupon along with daily specials, I am sad to say that I will not be using my groupon, and am saddened that a local business in my area refuses to honor deals in creates.
The first paragraph reads as follows:
“Eating while riding horseback was pioneered by the efficient Mongols, who also adjusted to reading, receiving haircuts, and filling out their taxes atop their four-legged mobiles. Enjoy the convenience of chairs and tables with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of food and drink at By Golly’s Bar & Grill in Milford. This Groupon can be used toward daily specials.”
Mike B. Please explain why By Golly’s is choosing not the honor the statements made in that paragraph.
Mike B., if you end up changing the policy, I would like to know. I might come back if you do.
Was this ever worked out?
Alana, no. Still not worked out. If you go there, make sure you print out the page from the deal that says the Groupon can be used for daily specials!
By Golly’s is very sorry about the miswording used in the paragragh section of the Groupon. We have discussed the issue with Groupon and they have admitted there error and we are awaiting the verbage to be changed. At no point was this paragragh ever the wording picked to be used by By Golly’s and we are very sorry in the way it has effected any of our customers. We believe that giving a 50% off value is a great deal and speaks for itself. We hope to see everyone very soon and over the Holiday season. God Bless.

Can someone tell me if this place is kid appropriate? I would be looking dinnertime maybe around 6 pm. I was told this is similar to B-Dubs, and I take my kiddos there all the time.
