Can I use this Groupon on any day of the week?
WOW! When I bought mine at 6:00 this morning, there were only about 7 purchased. Now it’s up to 2,913 as of 9:45!
Café 28 is awesome. They have a great brunch. The stuffed french toast is one of my favorites. Enjoy!
Oh no! I have been planning for weeks to go tomorrow night to celebrate my birthday with a table of 7. I fear we’ll never get seated! Bummed on the timing of this Groupon…but I love Café 28.

As far as your question about using the Groupon today, unfortunately you cannot as we will not be emailing them out until midnight or shortly thereafter.

This is a wonderful restaurant. They had a great garden in the summer. The mojitos are the best.
Hey Barry. In the fine print states per table, Does the table = bill. For example if there is 2 people per bill. Just wondering. I love that place. And walking distance.
Been there for dinner a few times, and it’s excellent. Now I’m taken with the brunch idea, which is new, I think? I assume the groupon is good for that, too. How crowded does the brunch get? Any time/day with shorter waiting times? Do they take reservations for brunch? Will the outdoor area be open again this summer?
Sorry for all the questions, but they’re a sign of enthusiasm for the place.
They make GREAT Mojitos and the food is great too. Maybe I should buy more than one…
Hey Szymon – if i understand your question correctly it does mean that one table = one bill, so if you were with another person that had a Groupon as well, you would only be able to use one of them – hope that answers your question.
Davey, lots of great questions that i am unable to answer – I’ve asked the owner of the restaurant to chime in here and he will shortly.
I too love this place, but I’m starting to worry about the number of Groupons being made available for sale and how they might end up swamping the places that offer them. Does Groupon initiate cutoffs at some point? The Cafe 28 offer has sold hugely, and deservedly so because the place is great, but all of them are set to expire in September, sounds like a lot for this place to carry. Are there limits in place, and who sets them?
Been there three times now and find it to be a very nice experience!

I was so excited to see Cafe 28 on Groupon! This is one of my favorite places to eat in Chicago. Excellent food and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend trying Cafe 28!
Hello Davey, brunch hours are Saturday 10am-2pm and Sunday 9am-2pm. Saturday and Sunday early morning is less crowded. We do take reservations for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Finally, the patio will be open this spring, weather permitting. Hope this helps.
Hello Kim, Café 28 can accommodate over 100 guests at one time and an additional 40 guest when the patio opens. Currently the weekdays have no wait to very little wait times.
Hi there, I am really curious as to what the parking is like here? Deciding whether or not to buy based on how much valet is, or whether or not there is a lot.

Unfortunately we do not have valet, but there is plenty of metered street parking in front of Café 28, but even better, on the east side of Ravenswood Avenue there is plenty of parking spots that do not require permits and are not metered…this is your best bet! Much better than valet for the cost! Hope to see you soon.

Brunch here is the best. $40 will go a long way and the mimosas and bloody marys are great. Try the southwestern eggs benedict. Yummy!
I used my Groupon last night and it was so good! We had the Pork Chops and the Ribeye and both were amazing. I am so glad I bought this one… but I wish I had bought more!

I don’t know if anyone reads this after the Groupon is bought, but this was a Groupon I am definitely glad I purchased. We used it for Sunday brunch and the Groupon more than covered two of us. Everything was yummy!
If you dont use the groupon before it expires is it still worth the value that we paid for it at Cafe 28. I think we paid $20 right?

What happens if my Groupon expires?
All is not lost! Once a Groupon reaches its expiration date, it loses its promotional value, but you can still redeem it at the price you paid for the length of time stated by gift certificate laws in your state.
I don’t think this was a very conscientious offer from the restaurant as well as groupon. Selling approx 7900 groupons to be used in a timeframe of 200 days basically means honoring approximately 40 groupons per day, probably averaging more in the tail end of that timeframe. Given the place no longer appears to serve lunch and is only open for a 5 hour window in which to seat and serve 40 groups of people just using their groupons, this is a questionable feat. Either of those entities should have considered capping.
The meal was great but they had run out of two items by 7 pm tonight, and one of the items was what I wanted to order – the chicken with pistachio nut coating. Service was good but they also ran out of bread.
They definitely were overwhelmed with the number of people redeeming groupons. IT’s a good restaurant though.
i want to use my groupon today because my coupon expires, i can only go for lunch. Can I use this coupon for another resturant, because this resturant does not offer lunch now

Yet Cafe 28 refused to accept the face value of the groupon
This is a great deal! My wife and I eat here often and the food and service is outstanding.
