Questions and Answers

It says “business casual”.
These are the same prices that are listed on their website, so I don’t know how this is deal or where they are getting the value prices from. No need to purchase this. Deceiving.

Has any1 ever been here for Tea Time? Ive read thru the reviews but I didnt see any specifically for Tea. There were alot of brunch reviews….& they were MIXED.
Does this mean that it CAN or CANNOT be used for tea around Christmas time. Would that be considered a “special event?”
The prices are the same, but you are getting TWO for that price.
I have been to this tea…..nice but not great…..at half price well worth the afternoon. Thanks for putting teas on Groupon. Nice way to visit with friends.
Jessica – I disagree – the website is the price for tea for one, this deal is for two. It is stated correctly as half price.
The prices on their website seem to be per person, whereas the prices in the groupon are for two people together.
Jessica,
I am pretty sure that the prices on the website are per person, while the groupon is good for 2 people, so it is half price

Jessica:
Hi. The prices you are seeing on the site are for ONE person. This is tea for two.
Hope that clears things up. :)
What is the regular price for children?
Jessica – The website is $28 for 1 person. The groupon is $28 for 2 people.
Jessica, I think the deal is that you get two for the price of one. So you are saving 50 percent.
Jessica, this is tea for two. On the website, it’s only tea for one.
Jessica.. this is a deal, because the prices with the groupon are the same for TWO people as for ONE on their website.
Try calling for a reservation sometimes restaurants don’t use Opentable and handle their own reservations for certain meals or specials
I just checked the website and this groupon is 1/2 off that price.

The pricing is correct. The cost is $28 per person on the Cafe Promenade site. This deal is $28 for two people. Hence it is 50% off. HTH
Jessica – the price on their website is per person. The Groupon is for 2 people, so half price.
I have been to The Mayflower for Tea on 2 separate outings. Was great to take a friend for her birthday and then to take my mom for a girls’ day out. Both times were lovely. Now the chance to go again at 50% cost, will be great. Yes, it is worth the extra effort to dress nice but it was clear that you will not be turned away for dressing tacky or in Saturday morning attire.
@Jessica E. – the prices on the website are for ONE person, not TWO. If you are going to make such accusations, you should be sure you know the facts first.
I agree with Kristy. Will there be some more reservations opening up on weekends? 3-5pm during the week is not very practical.
Kristy Jo – I’m pretty sure you can cancel on the day you buy.

ZoeyGroupon here!
Jessica: The price you see on the site is just for one person. This Groupon is for two people (50% off).
Kristy Jo: You can also call Cafe Promenade and check availability that way. (202) 347-2233
Mary G: Unless the Cafe is either closed or booked for a special event, there is no reason you can not use your Groupon around that time. Groupon customers have the same access that anyone else would!
Keep the questions coming! :)
Kristy Jo,
Have tried calling them directly to make reservations? Sometimes I wonder about open tables system.
I’m concerned that there are no reservations available — are reservations not taken for tea?
Does "limit 1 per table mean? Does it mean that if I purchase one and my sister purchases one that we can’t sit at the same table?
I just called Cafe and made a reservation. I am unsure about the table/coupon limit. My friend is coming plus 1 and I am coming with 1. Will we be able to sit together and use our separate groupons or will we be required to sit at separate tables??
Also, I made the reservation for 4 to make sure her spot was secured. We are not clear. This is our first gorupon.
Wait, so if you can’t get a reservation do you then just lose $28? That seems like a racket to me.
Are children under the age of 16 permitted? What does “limit 1 per table mean”? Can I use more than 1 Groupon for a reservation?
I bought one but the “Limit 1 per table” restriction makes no sense for a deal geared to two people. The restaurant isn’t losing any money by having 4 people sit together and use 2 Groupons at once. If anything, it clears up another table for the restaurant to book seating two parties of two together and letting them use 2 vouchers. Why is this policy in efffect?

So has anyone been here recently that can comment on how difficult it is to get a reservation normally? If it’s often full, I don’t know that I’d be interested.
you can call and make reservations for tea…just made one for next saturday at 3:30

Danielle: Call the Cafe directly if you can’t get a reservation through Open Table. (202) 347-2233
Murray: If you and your sister go together, you only need to buy ONE Groupon. This Groupon gets you tea for TWO people. It’s essentially a buy-one-get-one-free deal.
Patricia: If you are sitting in a party of four, you can use one Groupon at the table. OR you can sit a separate tables and each party of two can use ONE Groupon.
Kate: If for whatever reason you can not get a reservation after trying both Open Table and calling Cafe directly, Groupon will refund you your money. That’s our universal policy with all Groupons.

Is there a dress code?
