Spider-vein- and broken-capillary-removal sessions use IPL lasers to break up unsightly veins. The veins will change shades and eventually disappear. For complete removal of spider veins, at least six treatments are typically needed.

Calgary Anti-Aging Spa

Before she opened Calgary Anti-Aging Spa, founder Cheryl Swan recalls, "I was spending so much money on hair removal I thought, 'I'm spending so much, I could probably buy one of these machines.'" So she did. What was a side business quickly became a full-time spa. Now, a dedicated clientele is devoted to the spa's combination of cutting-edge technology and organic botanical products. "We want to believe in the things we represent and be 100% sure that [they are] good for people," Swan says. "Our skin and our hair… is so absorbent, you should be able to eat whatever you're putting on [it]."

Along those lines, Swan reveals that her spa's go-to services are beginning to change. Whereas IPL facials, hair removal, and elōs skin tightening drew customers in, "we're becoming known for [our] facials," which use Naturopathica organic products. They not only nourish complexions, but also create sensuous scents that motivate middle-aged bloodhounds to delay their retirement. Swan reports that neighbours to the spa frequently pop in just to ask what smells so good.
