In case anyone wants to know, this is a Christian based organization. Their Mission statement says “To Share in the Joy of Christ by Living Adventurously.” I don’t know if that means they will be preaching during the sessions or not, but this is certainly soemthing that should have been disclosed by Groupon.

Grace Y.

Whoa. That’s pretty unexpected.
I partially agree, but at the same time, Groupon users should always take responsibility for their purchases and always do all necessary research. I bought a groupon for Britesmile for another city, and much later, researched the company and realized it got terrifyingly bad reviews and I’ll probably just let that $185 groupon expire. Or maybe I’ll beg for a refund :)

At any rate, a lot of the time, everyone can count on diligent groupon users like yourself to catch important details and discuss them in the forums!

Hey, I just started working with Camp Gladiator, so I can provide a little insight for you.

The founders ARE Christians, who like thousands of other people are motivated to do things with excellence because of their love for God. This comes out in their personal lives and by having a corporate culture where things like honesty, integrity and loyalty are super important but certainly not in preaching during the workouts haha. The workouts are about getting fit! Camp Gladiator is really just a bunch of great people that really want to get in shape and be around other people who can encourage them, push them and keep them accountable. So I wouldn’t stress too much about this in your decision to buy or not.

Don’t buy this if you don’t want to show up and work hard, don’t buy this if you hate being outside, don’t buy this if you don’t want to sweat, but don’t avoid it because you’re worried about preaching, you simply won’t hear any.

I hope that’s helpful?

Marcie J.

Can you use this for a future camp as long as it’s before the expiration date? Or do you have to use it for the one staring on January 11th? Thanks.

Morgan Z.

Hi Marcie- Yes, as long as you redeem before the expiration you may use this for a later camp! :)

Teresa J.

Goodness, do you get preached at when you go through the drive-through at
Chick-fil-A or walk into Hobby Lobby? (Those are both “Christian”-founded businesses too!) Do they have to put a fish on their advertisements to disclose their faith status or what?

Hey guys, this is Jeff Davidson, one of the founders of Camp Gladiator. Just a note on one of the posts above, while Ally and myself are Christians and attend Hill Country Bible Church in Austin, there is no preaching at camp. The mission statement quoted above was taken off our kid’s camp website, which is a 501C3 non profit, where we help under privileged youth in Austin get access to our Awesome CG Kid’s sports camp.

Our Adult boot camps are full of varying people of different back grounds all looking to have a great time while getting fit!

Lorna C.

It expires on 04/06— does this mean I could start the 03/22 class through 04/16 or would I have to stop half way through? Let me know! THANKS!

Morgan Z.

Hi Lorna- You could start in the 3/22 class with no interruptions.

Samantha S.

I saw on your website you have a Westlake location coming. That would be the best one for me. I wanted to see how soon that was planned if it would be before this expires I could do one in Westlake and what time that one was going to be. Thanks.

A.M. S.

When it says unlimited classes & any location, does that mean that I can pick from any of the locations to sign up, or does it mean I can switch locations within one 4 week period? (i.e., can I do Monday PM at Dick Nichols and Tuesday PM at Austin HS, then go to a morning session somewhere?)

I’d like to be able to move between locations but want to make sure that I’m interpreting this correctly.

Samantha,

We are hoping to have the Westlake location running in February (March at the latest).. it would most likely be a 7:30 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. location.

A.M. S. – It is truly unlimited. You can go to any time/location as many times as you want – no restrictions

Natanya A.

My husband and I would both like to try the program. I’m assuming that because we are two people if I buy two groupons via my account I can simply give one to him as a gift. I’ve read the fine print and this appears to be true, but I want to be sure.

Natanya A.

Oh, and about when will the Saturday options start? I’m a working mom so Saturdays are always better than week days.

Anthony C.

Boy KC. Thanks for the heads up that these people are Christian. That totally makes a difference in my decision to buy. You need to watch out for those freaks! (rolling eyes)

Don’t worry Jeff- keep doing the great work you do! The times aren’t convenient for me because of work, but if not, I would definitely try you guys out.

Morgan Z.

Hi Facebook User- Yes, you may purchase one for your husband as a gift! Using the gift option would work in this case too if you’d like! I am going to let Jeff field your second question just to be sure!

Jeff, Thanks for all your help today as well!

Morgan w/ Groupon

Natanya,

We don’t have a definite date yet on when our Saturday locations will be starting up but It should be within the next month or two. We always post the latest info on our website. Thanks for the question, it’s good to hear people are excited for that to start!

Wes B.

I’m interested, but see that I would need to bring a mat and dumbells. Could one of you suggest where to get these and the expected price? Thanks, wes

Andrea H.

great deal. i’m switching from atxbootcamp because of the lower cost. fingers crossed that the workout is just as satisfying!

Andrea H.

Wes – Target will have both of these items in their fitness area. I think they recommend females bring 5lbs and guys bring 10 lbs? Just get a thick yoga mat for your mat.

Wes,

This should give you any info you need to know about the camp including links to Target/Walmart where you can buy a Yoga mat and dumbbells. If you forget your equipment one day we have extra so don’t let that stop you from coming and getting a workout!

Shenea W.

I purchased this Groupon for myself and then someone else sent it to me as a gift. Is there a way to refund my account?

Morgan Z.

Hi Shenea- You may cancel your order at any time up until midnight. There are directions on how to do that in the FAQ box located to the right of your order page. If you have any difficulty with this please email support@groupon.com and they can manually change it for you! Hope that helps, and enjoy the gift! :)

Teresa J.

I’ve so far failed at everything fitness-related thing I’ve tried to do. My sculling adventure on Town Lake proved disastrous because I wasn’t coordinated enough to not run my oars into my teammates’ oars! (I loved the idea of being in sync with a whole long scull-full of people BUT I RUINED IT.) This boot camp looks like fun and I really do need to get into shape but don’t want special attention paid to me just because I can’t do something because it’s embarrassing. Would there truly be people who might be just as inept as I am? I have 58 pounds to lose and would love to become a “late-in-life” athlete!

Morgan Z.

Hi Teresa- In talking with Camp Gladiator my impression has been that they welcome all fitness levels and if you’re willing to put in the effort than get workin! :)

The very best of wishes to you; your responses today have truly put a smile on my face!

Morgan w/ Groupon

Teresa,

We do accept all fitness levels.

We have great athletes out there but we also have people like you who WANT to be great athletes and just need a place to put in the work and other people to motivate them. In fact we have many people that want to lose 50, 60+ lbs and even several grandmothers that come to camp regularly. On our website we have lots of testimonial videos you should watch some of them!

Wow, just saw Barbara Coffee’s testimonial. I’m in my mid-40s. I think I’m gonna do this!

Terry A.

I hope you run this groupon again at a later date. I am sorry that I missed this one and would definitely buy a groupon if this offer was available again.
