$10 for a Ghost Tour for Two (Up to $20 Value)

Candlelight Ghost Tours of Frederick explores a panoply of paranormal activities based on eyewitness accounts and historical events. Tours begin in front of Brewer's Alley Restaurant and Brewery, where a gaggle of ghost hunters embarks on a quest to encounter departed Revolutionary and Civil War patriots. Guides tell tales of the city’s past as they lead their groups through the haunted landmarks and darkened streets. Along the way, tourists get a glimpse of some of Frederick's most haunted spots, including the eerie aisles of the Tivoli Theatre, a private residence still housing the spirits of those who once dwelled there. The fearless and faint-hearted alike can unravel the preternatural at a leisurely pace, covering about 1.2 miles in 90 minutes. This year's tours begin on Saturday, March 30th. After filling up on fright-fueled fun, Groupon holders can take advantage of a 10 percent discount at Brewer's Alley, which boasts an ample menu of upscale American favorites alongside homebrews and a living, breathing staff.

Candlelight Ghost Tours of Frederick

The night sky lay heavy over the rolling hills of Gettysburg. In a tent among his fellows in the Union Army, Private Ron Angleberger woke from a restless sleep to the blaring of a cavalry horn and the earth-shaking rumble of hundreds of horses on the charge. He raced outside his tent with the other Civil War reenactors to discover that there were no horses present, and, in the eerie silence that followed the apparition, the regiments of actors realized they might have been privy to one of General Custer's July 3rd charges. This incident, along with a love for history and similar paranormal experiences on the many battlefields around Frederick, led Ron to form Candlelight Ghost Tours of Frederick.

Today, Ron's tours explore the bone-chilling histories of Frederick's most haunted abodes as he tells stories of their inhabitants both living and dead. Walking tours began in late March and end late in the year, depending on the weather.
