$70 for an Introductory Scuba-Diving Lesson ($140 Value)

PADI-certified diving instructors take students on a three-hour underwater journey, beginning with basic dive theory and equipment familiarization on dry land before a shallow water dive at Hinman Island. Most equipment is provided, though students should bring or rent their own snorkel, mask, and fins. The skill learned in this introductory lesson can be utilized in and credited toward full diving certification courses.

Canyon Lake Divers

The crew of PADI-certified divers and master instructors at Canyon Lake Divers love exploring waters all over the world, whether it's plunging into the 8,240 acres of their namesake lake or arranging excursions to go spearfishing the Gulf of Mexico. They like to take people with them on their adventures, too, teaching PADI dive courses to get fellow adventurers trained and certified. On long trips or minor outings, they take care of all the details, from helping their patrons in and out of the water, to transporting and rinsing down tanks and other cumbersome equipment. They sell all the essential gear for any trip out of their brick and mortar location, carrying such brands as Genesis, Akona, and Sherwood.

The Groupon Guide to: Clarinets

Everyone remembers hearing someone say, "If that music doesn't have dozens of clarinets tooting their notes, making the sounds come out of the end that the mouth doesn't go, then no thank you, sir!" Here's why so many people are loving the clarinet:

  • The clarinet has a warm, mellow tone, not like the trumpet, which just sounds like a big pile of garbage that's sitting there stinking it up but also making musical noises.

  • The clarinet is easy on the eyes, with all that straightness. That trumpet has sleek, alluring curves. You want kids looking at that? No, thank you.

  • You can take a clarinet apart. Can you take a trumpet apart? No, not just the mouthpiece. I'm talking about really taking it apart. You can do that to a good ol' woodstraw (a clarinet). Trust me.

  • There are dozens of famous clarinet players, such as Woody Allen and all those men that Woody Allen plays clarinet with. The only trumpet player who is remotely famous is the man whose life inspired the Broadway musical The Music Man, and he's probably dead.

Why is America in love with the clarinet?
