Choose Between Two Options

$22 for a 90-minute winter wine seminar for one (a $45 total value)

$39 for a 90-minute winter wine seminar for two (a $90 total value)

During each seminar, attendees get to experiment with their own pairings of foods, wines, and spices. The process also teaches them how to use citrus, salt, and sugar to elevate a pairing to a new level. The first few seminars focus specifically on holiday meals. Each seminar includes a complimentary wine tasting and a sampling of spices and accouterments for pairing. Seminars are scheduled for Saturday, February 9 at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 16 at 1 p.m., and every Sunday in March at 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m.

Capitol Vineyards

A 30-acre swath of lush, Red Oak Mountain terrain surrounds Capitol Vineyards' historic facilities, where owners Lauren Shrem and Matthew Noland forge an eclectic collection of French-style wines from Virginia grapes. With help from a resident French winemaker and vintners across the state, they press an array of vintages, dispensing the elixirs during events inside the facility's historic, rustic tasting room. Constructed as a post office in the 1800s and used as a general store in the early 1900s, the site still bears its original wooden bar, floors, and grizzled prospector.
