During a two-hour class at Carmen’s studio, pupils equipped with their own digital cameras learn photography basics such as composition and exposure. Students leave with two 5”x7” or one 8”x10” print of a touched-up image. Classes are held on Mondays at 2 p.m. and Fridays at 4 p.m.

Whether snapping photos at an event or inside her studio, professional photographer Carmen Celentano takes cues from her subjects to ensure that they are comfortable while being photographed and looking their best in each retouched image. Although she praises black-and-white film for its unparalleled romantic appeal, Carmen also shoots in color to capture the hues of a bridesmaid’s dress or the best man’s traditional tie-dyed tuxedo. In addition to documenting special events, Carmen also teaches beginner photography lessons and snaps shots of models to help build their portfolios at in-studio shoots.
