For $119, today's side deal gets you a tandem-jump skydive from Central Michigan Skydivers, located at the Mount Pleasant Municipal Airport (a $225 value). Central Michigan Skydivers is open on weekends in April and seven days a week from May to Thanksgiving, weather permitting.
The Central Michigan Skydivers experience begins with a basic safety training and the delivery of chicken scratch on a few important waivers. Once you're outfitted in safety gear, you'll climb up to 11,000 feet in one of the company's skyclimbing machines. Securely strapped to one of the human-eagle Tandem Masters—who have a combined experience of 20,000+ jumps and 50+ years—you'll plunge and free fall for 35–45 seconds before opening the safety blanket to float the rest of the way back to landlubbing life. Depending on your adrenaline-seeking style, your human backpack will happily help you descend in crazy spins and flips or uncomplicated serenity. Today's deal also includes 25% off a Central Michigan Skydivers T-shirt. Those who want to relive their experience can purchase a DVD recording of their jump for $75. Call in advance to schedule.
Jumpers must be at least 18 years old. For maximum comfort, men must weigh less than 230 lbs. and women must weigh less than 180 lbs. If you are concerned about your weight, please call. You must sign a waiver before your jump.
Reviews
The Morning Sun featured Central Michigan Skydivers, and six Dropzoners give it an average of five stars overall:
- Central Michigan was the place where i took my first jump and will continue to go here. The crew is awsome [sic] they are a fun group to be around, they make you feel comfortable and safe. – amy1975, Dropzone
- Everybody there do [sic] all they can to get everyone into the air and to have a good time. Interesting, too, is that there are different student training options and they are very thorough and safety conscious. – somethinelse, Dropzone
