Choose Between Two Options

  • $59 for a three-hour Intro to Fly Fishing class for two (a $120 value)
  • $115 for a three-hour Intro to Fly Fishing class for four (a $240 value)

The three-hour class gives students a detailed introduction to the sport of fly-fishing, with pointers on basic casting technique, tying knots, and understanding rod and reel. Students learn how to tie knots, present the fly on the water, and learn how entomology affects the selection of which dry flies to use. Classes are limited to eight participants, and students should bring a chair as well as a pen and paper to take notes. Classes are taught at Avocado Lake and are held Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon or 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The next available classes will be held January 12, February 2, February 23, and March 2.

There is a $5 park entrance fee that is not included with this Groupon.

At Central Sierra Fly Fishing Adventures, guides teach students the basics of fly fishing. The staff pools their collective 75 years of knowledge of the area’s rivers, lakes, and streams, tailoring lessons and expeditions to the skill level of each student.
