Standup-paddleboard lessons take place on land and in the water, teaching students basic information about the equipment and paddling techniques. The tour starts off with a lesson, where students learn the ropes and how to paddle and stay on their boards. Once in the water, groups spend another 10–15 minutes getting acclimated before heading out. Students and guides paddle around Oxnard Harbor for 30 minutes, observing local wildlife including crabs, marine birds, and sea stars. It's not uncommon for groups to spy sea lions at play or rest. Before heading back to the shore, the paddle boarders have 45 minutes to free board and explore the harbor on their own.
