In a Nutshell

Athletic-club members work out aboard fitness machinery and drop into specialized classes, some of which are led by a physical therapist

The gym is a safe place to work out, unlike the home of a stranger who promised you unlimited access to his room full of 20-pound hammers. Work up a healthy sweat with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

  • $25 for 10 day passes (a $200 value)
  • $39 for 20 day passes (a $400 value)
  • $29 for a one-month gym membership (an $80 value)

Members and individuals toting day passes have their run of the facility's Life Fitness and Cybex strength-training equipment, as well as its rowers, ellipticals, treadmills, and cycles. They also can attend more than 30 group classes, including Zumba, Body Pump, and workouts led by certified physical therapist Jennifer Martin that stretch and strengthen backs and joints. After exercising, guests can shower off or step into the sauna, then grab their gear from private lockers. Those in need of parking can purchase 2.5 hours' worth for $1.

Chevy Chase Athletic Club

For nearly 35 years, Chevy Chase Athletic Club has focused the energies of its diversified staff—made up of degreed exercise physiologists, certified trainers, and an onsite physical therapist—on crafting a supportive gym environment for patrons of all ages and abilities. Strength and cardio equipment welcome solo workouts with individual televisions, and personal trainers assist improvement by charting custom plans. More than 30 group exercise classes per week blend mainstream favorites, such as Zumba and boot camp, with fresh options such as fit-ball dance, which pairs students with stability balls as they step to invigorating choreography.

The Groupon Guide to: Spicing Up a Monologue

Monologues are the most boring part of plays since they only involve a single performer and that single performer is never an adorable baby actor. To make these seemingly unending passages more interesting, follow these helpful tips:

  • Do something interesting with your voice. You could give your character an accent or, if you can't do a convincing accent, just yell the entire time.

  • Cut out all the unnecessary words, such as articles and any full sentences that don't foreshadow how the main character is a group of children hiding inside a man's suit.

  • Wear a funky hat or rad loafers. That'll give the audience something to look at!

  • Perform it with multiple people and tell the director you're going to start calling it a fun-o-logue.

  • Start at the end of the monologue and work backward. Then when you finish, tell the audience that they just got Pranked'd™. (If you're interested in buying the rights to use the name Pranked'd™, probably for a hilarious hidden-camera goof show, please contact Groupon for more information.)

Why is there so much yelling in plays? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
