The upside of eating out isn’t just that the food is better than at home—it’s also that you don’t have to poison the corrupt king’s porridge yourself. Keep your hands clean with this Groupon.
Choose from Three Options
- $17 for $35 worth of Japanese dinner
- $49 for a five-course pre fixe meal for two (a $99 value)
- $95 for a five-course pre fixe meal for four (a $198 value)
The menu showcases a range of traditional Japanese meals including tonkatsu ($10) breaded pork cutlets, a black-cod-fillet dinner ($22), and octopus nigiri ($5). Prix fixe meals include a variety of choices for each course, including miso soup or edamame, seaweed or spinach-avocado salads, goyza or vegetable tempura, broiled salmon or a sushi set, and gâteau chocolat or homemade flan.
Chef Hirohiko Kirita took over as executive chef at Chiso in 2010 and sought to strengthen the restaurant’s dedication to traditional Japanese cuisine. The menu incorporates fresh fish and ingredients from Japan into its quality sushi and ippin - or small appetizer - offerings. The sushi varieties represent every high tax-bracket neighborhood of the sea, with freshwater eel, salmon, scallops, and octopus. Any size appetite finds solace with a selection of ippin including yakitori, skewered free range chicken, and chawanmushi, a savory egg custard. For fully cooked sea meats, guests can select a black cod, salmon, or Norwegian mackerel dinner.
