Will I be able to make my own prints from the DVD?

Sara B.

Woo hoo – another great photography deal on Groupon! I’m excited to schedule our family’s session this Spring, looks like this woman captures kid’s expressions wonderfully!

Katie H.

I have a similar question to Shelby’s: does the DVD slideshow contain all the images from the photo shoot, and are we able to print the images from the DVD slideshow on our own? Thanks!!

Donald J.

Who cares about the DVD? (Okay I do as well) but for this price it is a bargain w/o the DVD!

I am new to Groupon…does the $45 cover everything….session, 3 shots retouched, & dvd of images?
My guess is that we only can print the 3 photos she retouches. But that is just a guess. :)

Mary A.

copyrights remain with the photographer. You can get around it by ordering from the CD online at walmart.com or walgreens.com, however you will not be able to make copies from the actual retouched print.

Jason K.

GOOoooooOOOooooD morning KC—

Shelby & Katie H — No, you cannot print off of the DVD…It is a slideshow that you watch as you would a regular DVD movie. It is great for not only viewing the photos, but it is also useful to send to grandparents/relatives out of town/neighbors who think their children are cuter than yours.

Danielle — Yes, the $45 covers everything that you see in the title: photo shoot, DVD, 3 retouched images, plus 15% off all prints.

Mary — You are able to print the 3 retouched images, but not any images on the DVD.

Best,

Jason from Groupon

Katie H.

Thanks Jason! Is it possible to add a CD of all the prints onto the package? Her website says you can order one for $100 but I’m not sure if that could be added on to this deal. I know it’s already a bargain – just thought I’d ask!!

Tracy S.

After reading Christina’s 2009 pricing PDF on her website, I would concur with danielle h. that we would be able to print the 3 photos on the cd. From the site: “You will receive a CD with. . . images from the photo shoot …. The images are provided in full size jpeg format and are suitable for printing up to 8 × 10 inches.” and “After receiving the CD, you have the rights to print, email or save the images as you please!”
The quantities listed online is varied from our package (which I’ve taken out so not to confuse), but I would figure the 3 on CD will print for us up to 8 × 10. The percentage saving on prints will be helpful as well in case I have a terribly hard time whittling my faves down to three, :) Can’t wait!!!

Tracy S.

Opps, took too long comment, Jason from Groupon already explained. Ah well, I tried, lol! Sorry!

Jason K.

Katie—

I am sure that you can order anything that Christina offers within regards to her photography studio, but it will be extra.

Best,

Jason

How many people can been in the photo?

meredith n.

Jason K-

Perhaps this has been answered and I am overlooking it.

I understand that the DVD is a slideshow, that can not be used to copy pictures from. I also understand that I will get three retouched images. When the photographer says images does that mean I will get three prints, or three photos on a disk that I can print?

I think I see the catch in this offer. The sitting and retouching is cheap at $45 but I will pay a lot to actually get any images. This covers the sitting and retouching not getting any actual images to keep. If this is incorrect please clarify!

Anne D.

I’m still confused about the verbiage below. Is the ($300) and ($60) listed just showing the normal cost of these services or will this be a mandatory cost in addition to the $45 for the groupon that we’ll have to pay to receive the photos?

Thanks!

“After your session, you’ll receive a custom viewing appointment to choose your three favorite shots for retouching and placement on a CD ($300). You will also receive a DVD slideshow of all images taken ($60)”

Jason – you are right. You do not get any prints. You have to order those yourself. However, there are some great, quality places online where you can get an 8×10 printed at super high quality for around $15. Not bad IMHO! :)

Anne – I asked a similar question and here was the response: “Yes, the $45 covers everything that you see in the title: photo shoot, DVD, 3 retouched images, plus 15% off all prints.”

Jason K.

Mary— It is up to 6 people for the photo session.

Meredith— You receive a dvd AND a CD with 3 retouched images. There are no prints included with this Groupon, however, you can order them at 15% off with this Groupon. There is no ‘catch’ as you receive the photoshoot, 3 digital images on a CD and a DVD slideshow. You do get to keep the images on your CD and DVD.

Anne— we put the price points in the parenthesis to show the actual value of what it would cost normally. So, the 3 images retouched on a CD is usually $300. The DVD is usually $60. And the cost of her to come to shoot is usually $150. But with today’s deal, the $510 value package is only $45.

When does this groupon expire?

Jason K.

Hey Corey—

As stated in the fine print, the Groupon expires in one year.

Karen S.

Okay I am seriously thinking about getting this deal. My concerns though are: I see that the value listed /added to the deal is $150 for her to come to shoot. What does that mean? If she comes to your house I think. I live 90 miles away and was thinking of having my sons SR picture taken..BUT she states that she doesn’t go beyond 20 miles. SO does that mean we would have to come to her studio for all the pictures..which means that would deduct the savings listed of $150..or I mean we really wouldn’t be getting that part of the deal? The studio here in town does some inside and then some around the area by old bridges, old brick buildings etc…would she do some of that combination for the $150 savings mentioned (like a few in her studio in dress clothes and maybe some nearby places she knows of for outside in casual dress? With these deals there is usually a bunch of people trying to get apts. at the same time also….would that be of concern..with all the people buying this deal…finding a time to make an apt. on her schedule???? THANKS SO MUCH.

Jill P.

Do we still have to pay the nonrefundable $25 deposit for the appointment?

Jason K.

Karen—

Since your home is farther than the 20 mile radius, you would have to come to her studio. This Groupon is valid for one year, there should be no issue with booking your appointment. The Groupon is the same value whether she comes to you or you come to her, so there is no changing/deducting the Groupon value. If you have any more specific questions/issues about the photo shoot, you are more than welcome to contact Christina @ 816-807-1003.

Jill— You do not have the pay the deposit, however, there is a cancellation policy listed in the fine print.

This is a WOW dea. In the era of point, shoot, download, the art and professional value of learned photographer is often diminished. It appears that is what may be happening, as I review of the questions. This is a tremendous value and I hope those of you that have not had the opportunity to engage a professional photographer will understand the kindness in this offer. From my understanding, the purchaser can travel to the photography studio in Kansas City or schedule the shoot within twenty miles of studio; up to six people in a group setting; photos on a DVD to watch and share only (not printable), and a disc with three professionally retouched photos that can be printed. Prints of the photo shoot can be purchased for roughly $15.00 each. This is an unbelieavable bargain for professional work. I respect the professional quality as shown on the website and the opportunity to have quality photos of people love. Thanks for this offer, I’m very, very grateful.

Todd J.

If you’re looking for a place to print your images online, I’m sure that Christina will be happy to recommend a reputable lab. I always tell my clients, that they can get good to great prints at Costco locally. If you are looking for something a little more, then mpix.com produces a great product. If you are paying $15.00 for an 8×10 from a consumer lab, you’re paying way too much. Most places should be in the $2.00-$3.00 range for a basic 8×10.

Jennifer A.

I just want to chime in on Leslie R.‘s post and say “hear, hear”! This is an amazing deal. I had to read through everything three or four times, then pinch myself to see if it was true. We’ve used professional photographers (most recently for the birth of our baby) and paid hundreds of dollars just for the shoot. To have the ability to get the .jpg file and freedom to print/share our top three faves in itself makes this a tremendous deal. Thanks Groupon (and Christina!) – this deal will work out great for our family as we celebrate the baby’s 1st birthday.

Dave H.

This is an incredible deal – jump on it!

Can the DVD be burned??

Jennifer C.

Hey! I missed this deal unfortunately and I wondering if anyone bought multiple groupons as gifts and is willing to sell one to me? :) Thanks!

Melissa M.

If anyone missed out on this and is looking to purchase one, apparently I misread the fine print…we now have 7 people in our family and the photographer wants to charge us the full $595 for that extra person. Kind of negates the “great deal” I thought I had gotten. I guess if it comes down to it we’ll just get a bang-up picture of just the kids…all 5 of them!

Rebecca P.

I moved out of town & can’t use mine- if anyone still needs one let me know :)

Sarah H.

I might need an extra one if you still have it Rebecca…

Rebecca P.

yes- I still have it. Private message me via facebook (or just click on my name) & let me know if you need it. :)
