I wish it was for more than just the one weekend. Their website actually has them for $15 from the 9th to 29th anytime. $5 more might be worth it. Especially since the groupon weekend is opening weekend and the lines will be huge. If they changed the use window, I’d definitely buy them from Groupon.
I agree with Chris. Minimum 250 to tip groupon, useable only on first 3 days. No thanks.
This sounds like a great experience, but doesn’t seem kid-friendly. Any recos for family members—minimum ages?
From the Haunted House Producer – this is not a kid-friendly event. It is really scary and disturbing. We do not recommend it for anyone under 13 years of age. We are doing a Kid’s event – less scary version – on Saturday, October 24 from 5 to 7 p.m.
yes, this groupon needs a wider window—i am out of town that weekend. will be interesting to see if it’s the first one to not ‘tip’.
well sheila, it seems like you will have to wait for another time to see a groupon not tip. I still think it needs a larger window, can’t make it because I will be busy studying for a midterm exams, oh well.. only 5 bucks more if I buy it online, so not a big loss…

Yes great idea, but for the extra $5 you have the freedom to go whenever you want!
Over 600 of these sold (so far), and must be used in 3 days only. I predict mayhem and LONG lines!!!
the house is built to accommodate 2500 people per hour so I’m certain we won’t have any problems with LONG lines and mayhem. Do not be discouraged – this is a great event and well worth the $10 entry fee.
that’s a relief, then. I was concerned about lines, so I just bought my groupon and i’m so excited to check this house out!

Basically, you buy into a groupon and if enough people do the same, you will get the groupon and your credit card will be charged. If it doesn’t hit this mark, then you don’t get it and you are now charged.
However, in a place like Chicago, its pretty rare if its not tipped. Usually the more expensive/stringent it is, the harder it is to tip it.
Today’s is only $10 so its not a hard sell.

it says 4 ppl per groupon, does it mean if 4 people are going i have to purchase 4 groupons or just 1??
ok, thanks for the quick response, im still a little confused. I purchased 1 groupon, so that is good for 4 people to go with me.. correct? now when we get there, do all of us still have to pay at the entrance?

I just printed my groupons and was just wondering, what exactly does it mean when the groupon says up to 4per person?
I too am wondering about Eberardo’s question. the Groupon states “up to 4 per person” Does that mean each pass is good for 4 people or each person can buy 4 passes total?
Hi Jacob and Eberando – the 4 per person means that a person was able to purchase up to 4 Groupons for the haunted house on the day that we ran the promotion. However since the promotion has ended there are no more tickets available at the price we were selling them at. Enjoy!
Its really a good deal but Im a little upset I didnt ask about the up to 4 persons…because it was misunderstood that I could get up to 4 people in with one coupon for the $10 and that is not the case. Now not sure what Im gonna do with the 1 groupon I purchased…Uggghhh!!!

i was not able to use my tickets this weekend, but I was wondering if i might be able to apply the cost of these tickets towards tickets at a later date. I looked everywhere for contact info on the event host (cursed chicago) but cannot find it.
I wouldn’t think so since it says here that the tickets expire today, but the host is the Chicago Tribune, so you could try and contact them?
thanks to those who answered the question btw i got back from the house a while ago and i got to say i was very disappointed. Saint Pascals Church has a haunt that is way better and its only $7 glad i only paid $10 but wish i did not pay at all. Its sorry that a non sponsered church can produce more scares than this place.
We went there on Saturday night – the place was okay but I would never go there for he full price. The place looked under staffed, many rooms were empty and it felt like something was missing. This was not good for the opening weekend.
can I purchase more than one for my family members so we can go together?
