Choose from Three Options
$33 for a five-week Artables art class (a $66 value)
Artables attendees get their hands messy with glue and paint. This class is especially engaging for students aged 1.5 through preschool, but the school estimates that kids as old as 12 will enjoy it. All students must be accompanied by adults. The weekly, one-hour sessions take place Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and at 12:30 p.m. from July 10 through August 7.
$37 for a five-week Pastelicious art class (a $75 value)
Pastelicious participants ages 7 and up draw inspiration from Chuck Jones characters and animation cels while drawing pictures. 90-minute sessions are held 3:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
$49 for a five-week Dynamic Dioramas art class (a $100 value)
Dynamic Dioramas students ages 7 and older provide their own medium-sized boxes, but all box contents are provided in class. The 90-minute sessions take place at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays and 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
New dates will be added for all classes as they fill up, and both Pastelicious and Dynamic Diorama sessions can accommodate adults as well as kids.
Chuck Jones Center for Creativity
Bugs Bunny. Daffy Duck. Porky Pig. Even if they don’t immediately recognize his name, everyone’s seen the characters that Chuck Jones created, whether on TV or in their nightly dreams. The Looney Toons animator, director, screenwriter, and producer won four Oscars for his legendary work, but in 1999 he set his sights onto a new goal: create a place where everyone's innate creative genius can flourish. The Chuck Jones Center for Creativity’s guiding mission is to animate dormant creative impulses with art classes, exhibitions, lectures, and film festivals. Classes, which welcome adults and kids alike, concentrate on topics such as dioramas, pastels, and illustration.
