Blankets keep passengers toasty during daylight or starlight sleigh rides that end with hot cocoa and mulled cider by a roaring fire. Before embarking on guided trail rides staff members help riders choose a horse that matches their sizes and experience levels, then provide a 15-minute orientation to ensure riders are comfortable in the saddle. Riders have the option of walking, trotting, or cantering during the ride, which winds through the quiet forests and peaceful fields around the ranch.

Circle B Ranch

The experienced ranch hands at Circle B Ranch specialize in horse-drawn entertainment, orchestrating trail rides, carriage rides, hayrides, and sleigh rides across 500 acres in the Adirondacks. Each trail ride begins with a brief orientation that includes a 15-minute video and personal training before guides lead their groups along paths that wind through mountain forests and stretch across expansive fields. Qualified riders may shift their horses into the speeds of loping or cantering, gaits slightly brisker than normal trotting and safer than somersaulting.

During carriage rides, riders load in to the back of a 1908 Sears Roebuck model for trips around Friends Lake. Seasonal rides include old-fashioned hayrides in the summer and fall. In the winter, passengers are whisked across the snow in sleighs, keeping warm by snuggling down into provided blankets or cheek nuzzling each other.
