$69 for a Basic Photography Workshop ($280 Value)

Choose from the following dates:

  • Saturday, February 9
  • Sunday, February 10
  • Saturday, March 16

Workshops run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a one-hour break for lunch, and are held in the Bridgeland-Riverside Community Association Community Centre. Fotoscool’s internationally acclaimed photographer and cinematographer Brad Wrobleski, whose clients include National Geographic and BBC, joins a skilled team to guide shutterbugs through the ins and outs of photography in hands-on workshop. The full-day class introduces students to DSLR photography through expert instruction and interactive exercises. Attendees should bring an SLR camera with a midrange lens, two memory cards, and two batteries. Learn to eschew the camera’s auto-programmed modes for manual settings that facilitate personalized picture-taking without the hassles of monogramming each pixel.

fotoscool

Founded with the objective of simplifying the often overcomplicated art of digital photography, fotoscool employs a team of seasoned instructors—each a longtime professional with a celebrated career—to guide photography students through seminars and workshops held across the country. Keeping their overarching objective of simple-yet-entertaining instruction in mind, savvy teachers design each session to get participants on their feet with hands-on activities such as interactive exercises, on-location shoots in scenic locales, and bonding human-camera trust falls. In an effort to branch out of the classroom, fotoscool also periodically hosts tours that ferry photo enthusiasts to scenic far-flung locales for extended shooting lectures and on-site experience.

The Groupon Guide to: Forgiveness

An old saying suggests that "to err is human; to forgive, divine." This saying was obviously itself written by a human, as revealed by the glaring error of spelling error incorrectly. Forgive the humans in your life with this guide to forgiveness:

Hear Them Out: Your loved one may have a perfectly valid reason for betraying you. What appears on the surface to be a romantic dalliance between your best friend and your spouse may be an innocent case of two people rehearsing a play about CPR.

Settle the Score: You can balance out any friendship with a karmic retribution. For instance, if your house floods while your friend was house sitting for you, force them to fill your newly aquatic basement with serenity-provoking koi fish.

Accept Their Apology: Be magnanimous, but always remember—genuine remorse can only be expressed in the form of suitcases brimming with hastily stuffed cash.

Are you a forgiving person? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
