$79 for a Basic Hands-on Photography Workshop ($280 Value)

Choose from the following dates:

  • Saturday, April 6
  • Saturday, April 13

Workshops run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a one-hour break for lunch and are held in the Bridgeland-Riverside Community Association Community Centre. The internationally acclaimed photographer and cinematographer at fotoscool, Brad Wrobleski, whose clients include National Geographic, joins a skilled team to guide shutterbugs through the ins and outs of their camera in this hands-on workshop. The full-day class teaches students how to make their camera simple to use through expert instruction and interactive exercises. Attendees should bring a DSLR camera with one lens, one memory card, and one battery.

fotoscool

Founded with the objective of simplifying the often overcomplicated art of digital photography, fotoscool employs a team of seasoned instructors—each a longtime professional with a celebrated career—to guide photography students through seminars and workshops held across the country. Keeping their overarching objective of simple-yet-entertaining instruction in mind, savvy teachers design each session to get participants on their feet with hands-on activities such as interactive exercises, on-location shoots in scenic locales, and bonding human-camera trust falls. In an effort to branch out of the classroom, fotoscool also periodically hosts tours that ferry photo enthusiasts to scenic far-flung locales for extended shooting lectures and on-site experience.

The Groupon Guide to: Skiing Sayings

Anyone who's spent a significant amount of time around professional skiers will tell you that downhill dunderheads (as they prefer to be called) have their own culture and way of speaking. Here are some phrases you can expect to hear the next time you’re sliding down the slopes:

  • It's all downhill from here!
  • I'm down with downhill skiing!
  • Head downhill, dummy!
  • Hey, look at me! I'm a character on Downhill Abbey!
  • What is that coat made of? Down? Hill ya later!
  • I'm king of the downhill!
  • Just call me Down Hill-ary because I'm the Hillary Clinton of downhill skiing!
  • Powder over chowder!

Who is the main character on the BBC's only show about skiing British royalty? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
