_Though City Kayak sometimes features a discounted price online, this Groupon still offers the best deal available._
Armed with gear from City Kayak, guests paddle past scenic San Francisco sites such as Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and South Beach Harbor during guided or unguided treks. Visitors can navigate their way beneath the Lefty O'Doul drawbridge and catch home-run hits soaring out of the baseball stadium and into McCovey Cove, or advanced paddlers can traverse strong winds and tidal currents en route to Treasure Island. City Kayak also schedules classes, which teach students basic sea-kayaking skills, self-rescue techniques, and how to eskimo roll, an escape maneuver that one could use to avoid the songs of tone-deaf penguins. City Kayak rents out gear such as wetsuits and booties and also sells a collection of kayaks, paddles, and accessories to equip paddlers for future travels.

It is probably one of the best experiences I've had in San Francisco hands down.Jose P., Yelp, 8/21/11

“The instructor and most of the crew were super friendly and helpful. But the man that pulled me in after the trip and to get out of the kayak was a bit rude, this was a beginners trip and he was upset when I couldn't stop my kayak to avoid bumping into the deck, he made it seem as if I should have known how to stop it from happening. This was the only bump in my experience, definitely a good deal for beginners, not for someone looking for a challenging experience. I felt there was a lot of waiting since some of the people in the group had not been kayaking before, we often had to wait for them to catch up made the trip a lot slower. Over all great service and good equipment!”
“Excellent tour, great guide. I'll do it again.”
