Safety-focused instructors lead kids age 3–15 through age-appropriate cooking methods for fun & tasty treats with seasonal themes

Kids, like Ponce de León, need constant supervision while exploring, or they’ll simply vanish into a jungle in search of eternal youth. Let sprouts traverse the exotic land of kitchens under the eye of a culinary tour guide with today’s Groupon to Young Chefs Academy. This Groupon is valid at the Mentor, Solon, and Strongsville locations. Prices vary by age; classes for children age 3–5 are normally $15/session. Choose between the following options:

  • For $14, you get your choice of one kids’ cooking class (up to a $30 value).
  • For $38, you get your choice of three kids’ cooking classes (up to a $90 value).

Young Chefs Academy’s seasoned and kid-minded instructors create a safe, interactive learning environment for budding epicureans, age 3–15, to develop a knowledge of food preparation in a smorgasbord of scheduled classes (click to view schedules for Strongsville, Mentor, or Solon). In the Kindercooks program, children 3–5 eschew their bulb ovens and play-doh beef-wellington recipes to learn the fundamental culinary language of the kitchen, alongside their parents. Older students don puffed white hats and aprons for the Junior and Senior Chef courses, delving into different monthly themes. Aspiring sous chefs also enhance their math, reading, and science skills as they measure out ingredients and follow recipes. Past gourmands have learned how to prepare refined alsatian quiches and homemade fudgesicles. Instructors inspire their students to think about everything involved in bringing ingredients to the table, from food preparation to kitchen safety and menu planning. As winter approaches, classes make ideal gifts for the upcoming holidays or celebrating a youngster’s kindergarten graduation or first steps on the moon.

Although Young Chefs Academy offers a variety of discounts, this Groupon still offers the best overall deal.

My 3 grandkids loved it! They looked forward to each of the 3 classes they attended and are anxious to return. Mom & I loved how they learned many things like cutting w/ a safety knife and prepping ingredients. After the first class of making a baked sweet potato salad w/ vinaigrette, one grandchild picked out a tiny piece of red onion from salsa she was eating later that week and exclaimed, "This is a red onion and I got to cut it w/ a safety knife". I cant wait to take them back!
