Creating a masterwork of art can be like wandering through a maze: after a lengthy period of reflection and contemplation, you’ll still probably starve. Appreciate the figurative risks and transcendent joys of artistic creativity with this Groupon.

$15 for $30 Worth of Paint-Your-Own Ceramics

Patrons begin by purchasing a ceramic piece in one of more than 100 designs ($5–$75 each), including mugs, vases, and banks. They then decorate the pottery using provided patterns, stencils, paints, and brushes before a staff member applies a clear glaze and fires it in the kiln. The artwork is available for pickup after seven days, and finished pieces are safe to use in both the dishwasher and microwave.

A dragon perches on a rock and bares its fangs, desperately wanting to take flight. But it remains chained to the ground. For this snarling beast lacks one important thing: colour. That’s where Paula Harvie comes in. As owner of Club Colour, she opens her studio to 40 people at a time to add pigment to more than 100 available ceramic pieces, from the dragon to cupcake trinket boxes and coffee mugs. Whether using stencils and patterns or following the lead of their sugar-stimulated day dreams, patrons can apply artistic designs to the ceramics using the studio’s stock of non-toxic acrylic and glaze paints. Handy staff members then glaze and fire the projects in a kiln to make them dishwasher and microwave safe. Club Colour also runs electric pottery wheel lessons for those who want to build their creation from scratch.

The Groupon Guide to: Typing Techniques

In grade schools, children are taught one way to type on a computer keyboard—with their hands and not at all with their tiny, perfectly suited for typing toes. Here are some other typing techniques not taught in America's learning rooms:

Hunt and Peck: One of the slower typing methods, it involves the typist "hunting" for each letter individually and then "pecking" the letter with a long cane.

Touch Typing: The same as the standard typing technique, but instead of touching the keyboard, let the keyboard touch you.

Fast Fingers: Standard typing technique, but a little bit faster.

Fancy Fingers: Pretty much the same as "fast fingers," but a little bit slower, and your fingers dance upon the keys like a dainty woman’s feet upon a wet dance floor.

No Fingers: Just throw a rock at the keyboard until you hit the key you want. If you end up breaking the keyboard, buy a new one and start over with a smaller rock.

I'm so proud of my son. He learned how to type with a cane.
