Questions and Answers
I think I just purchased 4, but nothing has happened and this was my first purchase…What do I do next?
Is there a minimum age?
If you purchase this group on and additional one as a gift do they have to be redeemed on the same day? or can the gift be used a different day?

Hi,
I am also wondering if this would be something appropriate for my 10 year old stepdaughter? I would love to be able to do this with her…. :)
@Elizabeth, @LaShaun, @Wendy- Participants must be at least 10 years old to paint and must be accompanied by a parent. The parent does need to participate as well.
@Suzanne- Welcome to Groupon! You should receive an email confirming your purchase or you can check the status of your order by clicking on “My Stuff”, “My Groupons” in the blue bar at the top of the page.
@Elizabeth- They do not need to be redeemed on the same day, but just remember that you can only redeem one for yourself.
Enjoy!
Stephanie- Groupon
ok I just purchased 5 of this deal for myself and friends. should I have indicated the other 4 as gifts or can I just print and we go?

Rashida
If you purchased a Groupon but did not purchase it as a gift, it will have the purchaser’s name on it which cannot be changed. However, your Groupon also has a unique ID number that the business uses to identify Groupon customers, so the person redeeming the Groupon does not have to be the person who bought it.
All of our merchants understand this and your Groupon will still be redeemable as a gift!

must the “parent” be my daughter’s parent, ie “me” or can it be any adult????
The thought of me being artsy brings to mind a pig in lipstick. I know my 13 daughter would enjoy this (painting not a pig in lipstick) but I’d rather visit the dentist than attempt to be creative.
Thanks. one more questions. If you purchased two of thesame deal for a restaurant and one was used but not marked as used in error. how can you tell which one was used. they were printed at the same time and one ws given as a gift. the person misplaced it and now i dont know which one to reprint. i know better now but how can i resolve this
Rashida, call the restaurant, give them the two Groupon numbers, and ask which has not been used yet. Simple. The restaurant tracks them using the ID number on them.
Will this Groupon be cut off before midnight if too many people purchase it or is it an unlimited deal? Thank you!
Hi,
Can my 16 1/2 yr old daughter participate in this, without me?
She loves art and I think would really enjoy this, however, I can’t even draw a round circle and really have no interest in participating in anything having to do with being artsy.
I want to make sure I understand. I pay $10 for the Groupon then I pay an additional $10????
I just entered to purchase 4 groupons for the painting class and put in all my credit card info., but after I hit purchase it still listed 1 on top. I’m not sure if I purchased 4 or not. How do I find out what went through.
I just called about an age requirement. The lady said you don’t have to be a certain age to participate, but if you will be drinking…you must be 21. :)
On the link to the Classes, you can click on the dates and pictures, and it reveals whether it is a 2 hour class, or a 3 hour class.
According to the information, this $10 (worth $25) coupon is good for a 2 hour class, but you can attend a 3 hour class (worth $35) by paying $10 more. So no matter which way you cut it, you are saving $15. But it does mention that you should tip (of course on the full value of the service).
How do were reserve a class? Do we have to call after we buy the groupon or is there a way to do it online?
As per Jennifer B. post. no certain age to participate… so does it this means i could get my son into this even his 9 yrs. old???
Thx for any inputs pls..

I just purchased two but didn’t see a gifting option. I read thru some of FAQ’s and it looks like I can use one and still give one to my spouse to use since each groupon certificate will have a unique id correct?
@Elizabeth- It doesn’t have to be their parent, but must be an adult.
@Ingrid- No, she must be accompanied by an adult.
@Natasha- James is correct. This Groupon is valid toward the 2 hour classes. If you want to take a 3 hour class, you would just pay the $10 difference.
@Jacqueline- You should get a confirmation email, but you can always check your account online very easily. All you need to do is go to “My Stuff”, “My Groupons” in the blue bar at the top of the page and you’ll be able to check on the status of your order.
@Jennifer, @Maize- Sorry for the miscommunication, but all participants must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by an adult.
@Angela- All you need to do is follow the instructions on your Groupon voucher and either shoot over an email or give them a call to reserve.
@Shahina- You are correct. Cocktails and Canvas will be tracking the Groupons by ID number.
Stephanie- Groupon
It would be helpful to have your site up to answer questions about today’s deal. What kind of calendar events do you have? Are they all geared more toward ladies, rather than guys?
How big of a group would be considered private for this groupon? I was thinking of sending this to several friends to do a girls night, but dont want to exceed the max number.
Thanks,
Agenna
Stephanie,
Thanks does the adult companion for a child also need to participate ie purchase their own Groupon and paint or just ’be there"?
I have having an issue purchasing five groupons on this; I would like to buy then for myself and friends but I am unable to. Once I enter my credit card information, there is a pink message on the top of the page that says there is an error.
Hi Groupon Staff/Stephanie
The Cocktails & Canvas website seems to be down (exceeded bandwith limit). Could someone reach out to them regarding this asap please?
I’d like to see what kind of painting classes they have before I purchase this deal
Thanks a lot
@ Christopher, @ Aditi- Sorry about that! It should be back up and running so check back!
@ Ageena- Let me check on this and get back to you.
@ Elizabeth- The adult will also need to participate.
@ Stephanie- Contact our customer service team and they can help you out— support@groupon.com.
Stephanie- Groupon
@Agenna- I’m so sorry for misspelling your name earlier! A party of 15+ is considered a private party.
Stephanie- Groupon
I found that with the bootcamp offer, they couldn’t accomodate us, there were too many purchases and not enough capacity in the classes. With 4000+ people trying to use this deal, I’m cancelling because I don’t want to constantly battle for a reservation. Is there going to be some kind of limit because with 4000 I’d question whether you could even find time to take the class before the December expiration date. I LOVE Groupon but how can we be sure we’d get to use it?

Stephanie, is there an adults only time to participate? Doing this with a bunch of kids running around esp when alcohol is involved sounds awful.
I like how they’re using the new and improved month of July, now with 32 days! Listing 31 days for a 30-day month is one thing, but listing 32 days for ANY month is a hilarious gaffe! I sure hope they have a sense of humor because if you can’t laugh at yourself when you make that whopper of a mistake, you’re in trouble.
Along the lines of what Spice said: with 4800+ purchases and counting, it’s worth understanding how big classes can be and I can’t find that information anywhere. Looking at the numbers will shed some light on the importance of this: right now they’re running an average of about 5.5 classes per week. Accounting for holidays, there are approximately 26 weeks between now and 12/15, meaning there will be approximately 143 classes between now and 12/15. Let’s assume my figures are a little low for whatever reason and say there will be 150 classes between now and 12/15. Well, at 4800, each of those 150 classes has to allow for 32 students in order to accommodate Groupon purchases—and only Groupon purchases—between now until 12/15. I don’t know anything about painting classes, but that seems like a lot of students to have in a class. And if the max class size is smaller than 32, then using this Groupon is by definition going to be difficult for many, many purchasers.
Will the Class Calendar merely be repeated, or can we look forward to a wider repertoire?

I purchased todays deal, then wanted to buy some as gifts and ended up doubling my order….what did I do wrong ? I cancelled the whole thing and will try again in about an hour !
FYI – I called Cocktails and Canvas earlier today and asked if I had to participate (I purchased this for my 16 year old daughter), and I was told that I just needed to accompany her and be present, but that I did not need to participate. I would just need to remain there while she takes the class.
Re: Josh A.
Now that was just funny!

I can’t wait to take my group to this event! To make my reservations, I emailed the biz through their website and received a call back the same day!
Groupon needs to change their policy. They need to put a reasonable upper limit on groupons. No way this vendor can handle this many people. So I had to cancel rather than try to deal with all the hassle of trying to get a class in an impossible situation. While I liked the idea of this groupon now I’m leery of buying any groupons again or ever going to this vendors business. So instead of getting new business you are driving it away at Cocktails and Canvas!
Did my painting class last night.
It was stunning.
Well organized and great fun.
I have a stunning piece of artwork to hang in my house.
Thank you all from Groupon and specially Cocktails and Canvas.
We did our class last night as well! It was fantastic and I cannot wait to go back! I never knew I was capable of making something so pretty! Thank you!!

I went today. The class was almost full! I think there were around 30 there today. They supply all the materials and you take your masterpiece home that day. It was so much fun. I’m definitely going back.

I went to the Sat class and it was fun. Very fast pace even for 3 hours. Just something fun and bringing out ones creative side. WOuld be fun with a group of friends. Am returning for another less abstract piece of art work to see how I do. A great idea and Taryn is an excellent instructor. Some folks went to eat across the way at the Haven or Valenza and the food was delicious.
Is there a way to find the class listing? The website isn’t working…
@Pooja- I was actually able to pull up the schedule so it might have just been a temporary glitch.
Here’s the direct link for you: http://www.cocktailscanvas.com/class-calendar
Stephanie- Groupon
Hello, I seem to be having a problem redeeming my groupon. I have already tried to email through the website twice for two different classes and I still haven’t received a call or reply, and the next time i checked the classes were full! I can’t seem to get into any or even a reply! Any advice?
Try emailing her directly at ‘taryn@cocktailscanvas.com’ and tell her that you have a groupon, and the date you are interested in. I did this in August without any problem and had a great experience.

Their new website with the calendar: http://www.creativelyyoursinc.com/new-cal
I have been trying to sign up for a class for a while now. Everytime I found a painting I liked or a date where I could attend the class was either full or there was a private party. I partially attribute the fact that the classes fill up so quickly to the fact that Groupon allowed so many of these to be purchased. I am really interested in a refund on this deal.
I agree with Jessica! This is crazy! They are completely booked except for a Jewish painting. I’ve been trying to book for months too!
Very disappointed. I’ve been trying to book since the day I purchased the Groupon. In June I wanted to book for my birthday in September, but the calendar didn’t go out that far. By the time it did, sessions were booked or there were private parties. Now I go to book b4 it expires and I’m in the same boat with everyone else. Looking at the # of Groupons sold, could it ever had been possible for everyone to use theirs in the allotted time? Just curious. I had 6 friends purchase as well, so I guess we’re all in the same boat. An extension of 2 weeks would do volumes towards morale!
Yea i just sent an email to them asking. Everything is already booked until the 15th except for one day but that’s a painting of a menora which since I am not of the Jewish Faith is not of particular interest to me. I’m worried because they have a note on their website saying it ends on the 15th and after that they will only give a $10 credit towards another class which means I have to pay another $15, not really interested in doing that.
I agree with the last several comments. These small businesses are squirreling folks out of money and laughing all the way to the bank. Do they really think they could handle more than 6K patrons in a 6 month period. These places are tiny little mom/pop stores. Oh well… more power to them – they stole my money!
Like Jen M, I too agree with the previous posters. I have been trying to book since July and I would try to contact them two or three times before I would hear back about a class, just to be told it’s full and there isn’t a waiting list. Now mine will just expire.
They sold so many groupons (without a cap) they are unable to meet the demand by the expiration date. It would only make since to have capped the number of groupons in advance, extend the expiration date or refund the money.
Cocktails and Canvas and Groupon have stolen from all those that tried and were denied using their groupons.
Groupon should refund the $10 to all those that cannot redeem them. They should have confirmed the number of sessions, people per session and put a cap on this.
I have bought a lot of groupons, but will never buy any that requires reservations and will look elsewhere before even considering groupon in the future.
The groupon expires next week and I have been unable to make a reservation. C&C sold nearly 6,500 groupons, but have approximately 22 open classes a month. At 25 people per class that would be 3,300 people. This means that if they filled up every open class with 100% groupon purchasers that they still could only honor half of the groupons sold.
Why did C&C and Groupon sell so many groupons that would not be honored? C&C is offering $10 towards a future class, but I bought this based on being able to try a $25 class for $10 not for $25. I would like my money back. Additionally, simple math would have told groupon to put a cap on this offer. What does groupon intend to do about this now and in the future?
these people are horrible and I will NEVER buy a service oriented GroupOn again because of these guys!!!!!
Well in advance of the expiration they were sold out of all there dates except for the day when they were doing a very boring and irrelevant picture of a Jewish Menora for me or my friend for whom this was a gift.
But because I was offered no other option by these unhelpful people I took this date. This date quickly sold out and even though it was sold out they would not let me switch to another day that wasn’t booked.
Then to make matters work the place was a ZOO. They claimed they can fit 60 and only had 55 that night. But PLEASE cheap folding tables with people squeezed around them on tiny tabletop easels and only one instructor who was basically not able to do much>??? THIS WAS HORRIBLE. I can’t believe they can get away with this!!! I need to go on YELP and other sites to warn people about this. OH and the offer for a $10 credit towards another $25 class? UH NO THANKYOU! Its not worth 10 and throwing another 15 at it would be like throwing good money at bad.
I’m at a loss why Groupon would have gone along with this.

I read all of these complaints – yet NO ONE actually called to talk with them (everyone emailed) and NO ONE just told Groupon they wanted a refund.
You’ve gotta take some responsibility here too folks.
Uh Rod you might want to do a little research?
If you are speaking of calling GroupOn, I’ve never seen a number, everything with them is Email.
As to this painting canvase place when you go to their website they don’t have a phone number readily available, instead when you click contact you get the email form.
Though I did go and talk to them in person as well as talk to them over email and they said they would not give a refund, just a $10 credit towards a $25 class but i’m not interested in that
I am writing about my horrible experience with my Groupon to Cocktails and Canvass Coupon #4061863-0-1 .
I have never had a problem or complaint until now.
These people are horrible and they do not deserve the $10 I paid for the Groupon.
Well in advance of the expiration they were sold out of all there dates except for the day when they were doing a very boring and irrelevant picture of a Jewish Menora.
Earlier in the year I had tried to book dates but because they only offer a month in advance they would sell out those dates.
When I called to try to get a date the week after the 15th for available slots they refused.
Because I was offered no other option by these unhelpful people I took the date with the painting of the Menora. Because lots of other Groupon Members were trying to redeem this date quickly sold out and even though it was sold out they still would not let me switch to another day that wasn’t booked.
Then to make matters work the place was a ZOO. There was NO room to bring your own cocktails or snacks as they promote.
They claimed they can fit 60 and only had 55 that night. But the cheap folding tables with had people squeezed around them using tiny tabletop easels and only one instructor who basically was not able to offer any instruction. It was horrible. I can’t believe they can get away with this!!!
Thus I did not stay and left since there was not an adequate location to sit. I did not use any materials or touch anything. And still they would not let me reschedule!
Their offer for a $10 credit towards another $25 class? was not a reasonable offer. It’s not worth 10 and throwing another 15 at it would be like throwing good money at bad.
Please they do not deserve the $10.
Thanks Groupon for fixing this You Guys ARE AMAZING!

3 questions:
1. is there a minimum age to participate?
2. If a 13 can use this groupon, must she be supervised by an adult/parent? and if so
3. must that person also be painting or does the person just need to be present?
thanks
