Waterslides were invented to entertain children and transport busy CEOs between bicoastal meetings. Hitch a watery ride and preserve your work clothes with today’s Groupon to CoCo Key Water Resort. CoCo Key is open Friday–Sunday, and special holidays; click here to see the park’s current operating hours. Choose between the following options:
- For $20, you get admission for two ($39.98 value).
- For $39, you get admission for four ($79.96 value).
CoCo Key Water Resort inspires splashes with sprawling tangles of waterslides housed within a gargantuan 50,000-square-foot indoor complex that maintains a balmy 84-degree temperature year round. Thrill-seekers taller than 48 inches rush toward alliterative adventures in Gator’s Gush, Barracuda Blast, Shark Slam, and Pelican Plunge, winging down slides that hurl bodies 40 feet as they cling to rafts or their vague understanding of the dynamics of hydroplaning. Parrot’s Perch accommodates smaller swimmers with an interactive island containing four miniature chutes, a water cannon, and a bucket that dumps hundreds of gallons of water every few minutes.
Escape workaday worries in the Palm Grotto, a giant whirlpool for splashers 16 and older, which features an outdoor extension reachable by a swim-through passage or wall-hopping trebuchet. Alternatively, tubes rip-roaringly coast on the Coconut Grove Adventure River, a fast-paced shallow channel around Parrot’s Perch. Though not included in today’s Groupon, the Quest video arcade provides ample exercise for post-soak thumbs, and a restaurant fills bellies with crowd-pleasing eats such as pizza and root beer.
CoCo Key Water Resort
Regardless of the weather outside, CoCo Key Water Resort simulates an 84-degree Key West afternoon. As licensed lifeguards keep watch over the 50,000-square-foot indoor water park, guests race down four 40-foot body and raft rides, drift along the adventure river, play water basketball in the activity pool, or embark on a lily-pad adventure. The Key Quest Arcade breaks up aquatic activities with video and redemption-style games that challenge players to sink free throws while their mother repeatedly checks the ball off their forehead. Pizza Hut Express and TradeWinds Restaurant and Lounge vend tasty snacks to all, while the Wet Rooster Bar caters to adult patrons.
