The Color Mania 5K run/walk takes place on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at WakeMed Soccer Park. Costumes are encouraged; however, participants must wear white garments in order to maximize the race's color-splattered fun. Email info@colormania5k.com for more information.

Color Mania 5K Run

Scheduled in cities across the country, the Color Mania 5K Run offers runners of all ages the chance to sprint, jog, or mosey their way across a course splattered with prismatic color. As participants wind their way toward the finish line, packs of color throwers target them with a barrage of biodegradable, cornstarch-based dyes, turning their once-white attire into a kaleidoscopic fashion statement. The race organizers don't keep track of time; the point is not to win the race but to enjoy oneself. Each participant will receive a Color Mania T-shirt, race bib, and gifts from race sponsors. Participants aged 7 and younger can run for free with a guardian-signed waiver, but will not receive a T-shirt, bib, or gifts.
