Choose from Three Options

  • $249 for a private cheese- or pasta-making party for eight (a $500 value)
  • $35 for a cheese-making class for one (a $65 value)
  • $35 for a pasta-making class for one (a $65 value)

Community Tap and Table hosts intimate cheese- or pasta-making classes at a southwest Sacramento location or in your own home during which up to eight people tackle the hands-on lessons. At cheese-making classes, students create fondue, butter, ricotta, and mozzarella from organic, hormone-free milk and cream and take their own herbal butter home at the end. Organic flour and cage-free eggs collide under students’ hands during the pasta-making class. They create sweet-potato gnocchi, lasagna, and fettuccine with white and sage brown-butter sauces.

During private parties, Community Tap and Table brings all the necessary ingredients to teach up to eight people the art of making cheese or pasta at their own home. Customers who purchase the cheese- or pasta-making classes for one will attend classes at the southwest Sacramento location.

Community Tap and Table

Inspired by the slow-food movement, the instructors at Community Tap and Table encourage everyone to make food deliberately and from scratch. Their events include techniques for such projects as curing bacon at home, canning and preserving food, and making tea-smoked salmon. Several of their cooking classes include beer pairings, and glasses of craft brew clink together during a foodie book club, punctuating chatter. Customizable private parties bring beer and food into the comfort of clients’ own homes, where they and a few friends enjoy cooking and pairing lessons from staff chefs wielding local ingredients. A portion of Community Tap and Table’s proceeds funnels straight back into funding farm-to-table projects or job-training resources for students.
