Are you ready to shred the gnar? How about your gear? Shake off the summer's accumulated pollen and aphids because today's Groupon polishes you up for the slopes and keeps you slippery all winter: $45 gets you a ski or snowboard Overhaul Tune, plus two hot waxes with finish at Confluence Kayaks. The Overhaul—the veritable Cadillac of snow-sports tune-ups—normally retails at $49 and includes:

  • Full rebase of running surface and weld of deep gouges for boards with significant damage
  • Stone grind
  • Belt grind of base and side bevel
  • Stone structure base
  • Hand finish and detune
  • Hot wax ironed in, scraped, and polished

Today's deal also includes two hot waxes with finish (normally $19 each) at later dates this winter, keeping your gear in top condition through the season—that should keep you whizzing down the double black diamonds like a greased roller skate on ice, all winter long.

Reviews

Yelpers applaud Confluence Kayak's staff and services, giving them 4.5 stars:

  • A very good kayak shop, centrally located in the Platte river district near REI's flagship store and Paris on the Platte. Good staff and instructors. – Claude F.
  • I'm not a kayak expert but it seems like these guys know what's up...Also, they'll tune your skis and/or board and offer a bunch of other snow-related services. – Megan H
  • The kayak shop that all other shops are compared against...Jon (the owner) and his staff are friendly, fair, and experts at gear repair. – David C.

Snowboarding has been around for hundreds of years, created when a young James Madison first tacked his stockings to a toboggan in order to circumvent wintery hills on his way to primary school. Since then, hundreds of snowboarding tricks have been recorded, and more are born every minute. In fact, here are the five most recently invented snowboarding tricks:

  • The Disheveled Jackrabbit
  • The 360 Thesis Procrastination
  • The Zapruder Flip
  • The Impress-Cara-From-Homeroom
  • The Icy Hand of Old Age
