Can we use the amount towards another class or is this only good for the pasta class?

Dana Z.

Is this for one or two people?

Amber S.

Will more there be more weekend classes added? I travel for work Mon – Thur and would only be able to use my groupon on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I see that one class will be held on a Saturday, but it looks like all the rest will be held on weeknights.

Michelle F.

Same question as Dana – is this for one or two people?

CookingFools

Thanks for your questions. This Groupon is good only for the pasta class, which is one of our most popular classes. It is good for one person only. We plan on adding more Saturday afternoon classes, how many depends on the number of Groupons that are purchased today.

 diana w.

I’m interested in the ingredients. Is the dough all freshly made from scratch? Is any of it premade with preservatives?
What kind of sauces do participants make?

 diana w.

Why is it worth $84? The price for this class appears to be $80 on the website? Is a beverage included?

Colleen R.

I can only see the pasta class once on the schedule—tonight. How often is it offered?

Colleen R.

Oops, when I clicked on the schedule on the CookingFools website I only saw it once. I clicked on the schedule from the Groupon cite and saw it a number of times. Sorry!

Gregory L.

Can this be used for any pasta class or just on one specific date?

CookingFools

Colleen, check out the schedule again, we actually have 13 pasta classes scheduled right now. We will be adding more soon to accommodate everyone.

kristin w.

Are there any gluten-free pasta classes?

Michelle F.

If I buy 2 Groupons, can they be used during the same session or only 1 per couple?

carol w.

Can minors (16 and 17) take the class?

Kina D.

Can a VISA debit card be used to purchase?

Ann S.

I feel like a ninny, but I cannot find the link to the scheduled classes on the Groupon site. What should I click on?

Paul D.

Will the class size stay at 12 students max? Is this a hands-on or a demonstration course?

CookingFools

In this class, you will be making pasta dough totally from scratch, with all those natural ingredients Grandmothers have been using since the beginning of time. None of the pasta or sauces are pre-made, hey, that’s your job. Each person will make their own batch of dough by hand. There are no preservatives in the sauces. The class will make Vodka Tomato Sauce, Basil Pesto, Mushroom and Cheese filled Ravioli and hand cut Pappardelle to serve with the Vodka sauce. The Cooking Fools staff will make a nice salad in advance to go with the pasta, which will be keeping you pretty busy during the class.

Ashley F.

The cost question that ‘diana w.’ posted before still has not been answered and I have the same questions. Why does the groupon page say it is an $84 value, when the actual cost on the website is only $80?

Can you BYOB?

Jeannine V.

Basic Pasta Making Techniques

Ever wonder how good restaurants have such delicious, light pasta? The secret is fresh made! Roll up your sleeves and come join us for a hands-on class where we’ll teach you how to make homemade pasta from scratch paired with quick, tasty sauces. Enjoy a casual dinner after the cooking instruction featuring both hand cut and filled pastas. This larger group class is one of our most popular and is perfect for a night out with friends and a great place to meet new ones. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase before the class from our retail store. Bar set up will be provided.

$80.00 per person, plus tax

Lori G.

Can you register in advance for the classes? I want to take a class with a friend but worry it will be too crowded.

Paul D.

Course description reads, “This larger group class…” What is the max class size?

Ben K.

Just to clarify, are we going to make our own sauce for the pasta?

Someone on Yelp said they did not make the sauce only the pasta.

From Yelp Review…

During the class, we were all able to make our own pasta dough from scratch and roll it out into ravioli and fettucini. However, that was about it. Dont get me wrong, that was challenging and interesting to learn. However, I was hoping to get in there and make some sauces. Well, we did not.

Kathryn S.

Hello Groupies-

@ Amber- this groupon is only valid for the pasta making class.

@Dana and Michelle- each groupon is valid for one person.

@ Diana and Ashley- the value includes tax.

@ Kina- Yes.

Kat @ Groupon

I would LOVE to see this Groupon offered for other classes, maybe for some healthy cooking? I am not a big pasta eater, but I see many other classes I would like to try.

CookingFools

Heather- You can buy wine and beer from our retail store right next to the class space. We have great wines from $9.95 and up and over 30 craft beers. We will supply bar set up at no charge. No BYOB from other sources is allowed.

Susan R.

I have not seen an answer to Ben K’s question regarding making the sauces, not just the pasta. Will we be making anything other than the pasta? Susan R.

Caitlin M.

Looks like sauces are included :)

What will the max class size be? Cooking Fools site states most classes are limited to 12 students. I want to make sure that Cooking Fools isn’t going to jam pack this class full of students just to deal with the onslaught of Groupons purchased.

If the classes are too full, I can understand why Ben K. is concerned that sauces won’t be made in class.

Michelle Y.

I took this class last year when it was offered by groupon. The pastas you make yourself. The sauces were made by the instructors as a demonstration.

Kathryn S.

@ Paul- Cooking Fools is planning to add more classes to accommodate all of the people who are going to be buying groupons.

@ BYOB- “You can buy wine and beer from our retail store right next to the class space. We have great wines from $9.95 and up and over 30 craft beers. We will supply bar set up at no charge. No BYOB from other sources is allowed.” from cooking fools.

The link didn’t work for the schedule of classes for pasta making. Where can I find it?

Lara C.

I just bought two groupons for this class, for me and my husband to do together. Each has my name on them though, because I just maked that I wanted two when I purchased. Can he use it or should I return it and buy him one as a gift?

CookingFools

Ben and Susan,
Everyone makes their own batch of dough in the class. While the dough is resting, different volunteers from the group come up to the front and make the Vodka Tomato sauce, Basil Pesto and the Mushroom Ravioli filling for the whole group, while everyone else watches. If there are 20 people in the class, we don’t make 20 batches of sauce, just one batch for 20. Everyone follows the sauce making procedure step by step and can ask questions. We feel that this is adequate instruction and allows more time to actually make the pasta. The most important thing to learn here is getting a feel of making and rolling the dough and filling the Ravioli and cutting the Pappardelle. This has to be a hands on tactile experience and is the main emphasis of this class. Also, the forming of the pasta is time consuming and we want to give people enough time to really get enough experience to be able to go home and repeat what they learned in this class.

Ashley E.

Will you have a maximum number of students per class? Your site (and another commenter) pointed out that it is usually limited to 12. CookingFools commented that if there are 20 in a class then a batch of sauce will be for 20.

I’m interested to know if there will be a cap on the number of students and if so, how many?

Also — I have the same dilema as diana w. regarding purchasing one for myself and one for my significant other…

 diana w.

I still am hoping to either get a list of scheduled dates or know where to find it on the groupon or cooking fools site. Will there be pasta making classes evenings other than Thursday or Saturdays … through January when it expires???

CookingFools

The Basic Pasta Classes have between 15 and 30 people. There is a pasta machine for every 2 guests, which means you won’t be waiting to use a machine. Everybody has their own station to work at.
There are currently 13 pasta classes on the event calendar at http://www.cookingfools.net/event-calendar/
They are various days of the week. Right now, we have plenty of space in all the classes on our site except for tonight’s class, which filled up last week. That means if you use the online form to request a date right now, you can get into any listed class you want.

Ashley E.

Where can I find the online form to request a date right now? I am not seeing one? :(

 diana w.

And, I have tried at least 10 times to get the dates, clicking on the calendar and can’t find the dates still. Please give more info on this. I am fairly computer savvy. Don’t know what I am doing wrong.

Ashley E.

Diana W. — this is the only calendar they have:

Julia Z.

I called to schedule my class, but was told that I need to fill a form on line. I don’t see any links posted nor I could find any forms on the website. Please advise.

CookingFools

We’ve been told that the link for online registration is on your actual Groupon that you print out. If you can’t locate it, try giving customer service at Groupon a call.

Julia Z.

Hey everyone, I found carefully hidden link to sign up for class

http://www.cookingfools.net/groupon/

Sylvia J.

It has been over 24 hours since I clicked “Buy” and under My Groupons it still says “Your order is currently being processed”. Anybody else get this?

Mark A.

Just went to this pasta class last night and had an awesome time! It was a lot of fun! Well-organized and the staff was very friendly. Would definitely like to see more of these in the future!
