Happy Friday Groupies!! If you have any questions, comments, likes or gripes on today’s deal….here’s the place to share them. TGIF :)

Thanks!
Sarah from Groupon

Mary L.

HI i like to know if this place is like all other burger joints where you make your order and find a table…or is it more restaurant oriented where you get seated before you make your order?

Sarah J.

@ Mary – nope, it’s table service! So have a seat, grab a drink, and enjoy :)

Thanks,
Sarah

Amanda L.

could I use this tonight or does it take longer for groupon to process it? thanks!

Sarah J.

@ Amanda – great question! The universal rule of all Groupons are that they are available to use beginning the following day, so you can go to Corner Burger starting tomorrow.

Thanks!

bj

Get the poutine fries when you go. I live, ahem, right around the Corner.

Frank M.

@bj- So I assume you’ll be cornering the market by gobbling up the max amount of Groupons?

Jeanne-Marie Z.

I’m having trouble getting the menu to load. Does this place have a veggie burger?

Arielle B.

I’ve never bought a restaurant groupon before so I’m not sure how it works in terms of how much your total bill comes to. If we spend over $16, can we just pay the difference in out of pocket?

Sarah J.

@ Jeanne – yep! Whether building your own or choosing from their signature burgers, you can specify beef, turkey, or veggie burger. The veggie burger is a medley of grains and veggies.

Thanks!

Elizabeth W.

@ Sarah J — you said that if we bought on Friday we could use it on Saturday? Even though it’s still for sale on Saturday? or do we have to wait until Monday? Thanks.

Elizabeth W.

@Arielle — Yeah, you pay out of pocket. If the bill is $22 you’d give them the groupon and then pay the additional $6 plus tip and tax.

Sarah J.

@ Elizabeth – yep, if you bought it on Friday, you can use your Groupon on Saturday. If you purchase on Saturday, you can use it on Sunday. Thanks for answering the other question too!

A J.

So, I ate at Corner Burger today using my Groupon. To my surprise, gratuity was automatically deducted. Is this standard Groupon procedure?? Or is this the restaurant’s doing?..Just curious.

A J.

hmmm.. I suppose the support people don’t care about questions once the deal is over.

Sarah J.

Hey A.J. – Sorry for the delay! Just checked back now and saw there were more questions posted after the deal ended. Adding gratuity is not standard Groupon procedure, so I’ll double check with the folks at Corner Burger. I hope you enjoyed your meal!

Gita C.

they automatically added a 20% gratuity to our check. kind of bizarre for a burger joint

Quanla M.

I love groupons, this was the WORST experience ever. The staff was rude the food was horrible and on top of that the add their own 20 percent gratuity to the bill most likely because they know the patrons will not be happy.

Please never offer a deal here again!

Frank M.

@Q- I almost went last night, but skipped it. That would have ended the weekend on a sour note! Slapping on 20% happened w/Phil Marie, until they got an earful that it was not legit practice. The same epiphany will occur to CB. Hope staff is reading.

Quanla M.

Frank I hope the staff is reading too.
After reading the fine print again it states tax and gratuity not included I took this to mean purchasers would have the opportunity to add an appropriate gratuity in line with the service received which I stated above left much to be desired!

Marylee J.

Gratuity and tax is never included in groupons. I only purchase restaurant groupons and I have NEVER had the tip automatically added. Which is a shame because I usually tip 35-50% to offset the saving of the groupon (i.e., $30 groupon to maxwells on a $36 bill = $50 total). Knowing this place is gonna take it upon itself to force a tip, makes me already not want to tip any more than 20% (and not stay and spend much more than the groupon cost).
C’mon guys, groupon users does not = bad tippers.

Question: can I use this ON 3/13 (the expiry date) or is the latest I can use this on 3/12?

Frank M.

Ah, lame policy STILL kicking. At least they’re persistent! So, I’ll just keep my spending at G face value.

Marylee J.

Still waiting for an answer to my question..

Lucien V.

For what it’s worth, went there today. Polite, efficient service, no mandatory gratuity, good food. (I left a 20%+ tip, of my own accord.)

A pleasant place to take a break and watch the rain come down, will be back.
