$75 for a photo-safari package for one person (a $229.90 total value), which includes the following:
- Educational photo safaris (a $150 value)
- Photography Handbook and Inspiration to Portrait Photography e-books (a $39.95 value each)
$125 for the above package for two people (a $459.80 total value)
Two top-notch professional photographers lead photo safaris with 45 minutes of instruction, followed by more than two hours of hands-on practice for students ranging from beginners to experts. Models who have signed release forms are photographed in front of locations including Centennial Park, the Georgia Aquarium, historic Roswell, and the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth, as well as scenic areas with stunning natural light and industrial backdrops with graffitied walls. Students bring their own DSLR cameras to class and learn about the cameras’ ins and outs, then experiment with studio lighting or different on-location settings. After the safari concludes, two books extend the lessons— Photography Handbook reiterates the lessons of the workshop to keep the fundamentals fresh, and in the Inspiration to Portrait Photography handbook, 100 striking portraits pop off the page, accompanied by details on the camera settings and postproduction processes that made the images sparkle.
Mike Moreland's portfolio bursts apart at the seams with the work of more than 15 years in architecture, fashion, and advertising photography. The award-winning photographer's three-hour workshops, typically lead by two–four expert shutterbugs, teach neophytes and hobbyists the tricks and tools to snap professional-grade shots. After 45 minutes of instruction, students spend just over two hours honing their burgeoning skills, capturing images on their own DSLRs or with a chisel and stone tablet. Guests walk out of the sessions knowing how to manipulate light sensors, how to adjust shutter speeds with a special emphasis on nature photography, and the basics of studio lighting, wedding portraiture, and shooting in urban settings.
