Other entrees include handmade gnocchi with fresh basil and burrata cheese ($16), lobster ravioli in a vodka sauce ($21), and veal layered with prosciutto, mozzarella, and a white wine sauce ($19).

At Cresta Bar & Ristorante, chefs employ fresh tomato sauces and more than a dozen cheeses to concoct their handmade pastas and house specialties. Although upscale Italian fare prevails in the menu, the platters occasionally flash Asian influences, such as in the coconut-battered seafood and the use of sambal oelek, a piquant chili sauce. Cresta’s sleek, geometric interior sets a minimalist tone, amplified by stark red and black hues. Rows of liquor bottles occupy nearly an entire wall, inviting patrons to dream up exotic cocktails and new homes for model ships. Outside, tree branches stretch across the spacious terrace, which helps turn the patio into a comfortably shady enclave for the summer months. Cresta is located about an hour from Boston's North End and a half hour away from Route 95, and free parking is available.
