Students meet up to three times per week for CrossFit Fundamentals classes. During each session, instructors familiarize students with new and foundational CrossFit skills and movements while demonstrating how to lift weights safely and efficiently without driving a forklift into the gym. After completing the CrossFit Fundamentals course, students can attend an unlimited number of regular CrossFit classes for two weeks. At the CrossFit Memphis training studio, every brow is knit in intense concentration. Students are tussling with dumbbells, sprinting up and down courts, and leaping onto Olympic platforms. These are some of the many exercises that make up the innovative CrossFit program, which eschews monotonous cardio machines in favor of varied, high-intensity circuits of functional movements to keep workouts challenging and engaging. Each workout strives to hit a variety of fitness targets at the same time, including stamina, strength, power, balance, and accuracy.
