Life in the Espresso Lane
Knack Brellings was just two years out of Business University's School of Prestigious Law. Enrolling on the Senator Borschardt Full-Ride Merit Scholarship for Underprivileged Go-Getters, he graduated with valedictorian grade honors, as well as a GPA of one million dollars. Then, tragedy struck. Brellings's parents were unable to attend his graduation because they were consumed by a bog while on an innocent nature hike the night before.
But his life of hardship only made him more determined to persevere, Brellings thought to himself while sitting outside the waiting office of Job Interview Incorporated Headquarters, his briefcase across his knees, his nerves a jangled mess of jangles.
"Espresso?" asked a passing espresso person. Her eyes were the color of sparkles.
"Make it a double," he told her, his confidence renewed. "I'm getting a job today."
