During a 30-minute workout, women move between 13 strength-training machines and 13 platforms for stationary aerobics. Available for an additional fee, the CurvesSmart card stores individual fitness specs and plugs into each strength machine, turning it into a virtual personal trainer. A green light indicates when exercisers have hit their target intensity level, a measurement that grows more challenging as strength increases. At the end of the workout you'll receive a detailed report on strength gained and calories burned. The punch card includes access to the Curves gym but does not include amenities such as Zumba classes.

Curves

As they enter the training circuit at Curves, female guests come face-to-face with the smiles of other women. And just as points on a circle share a common distance from the circle's center, workout participants share the experiences of those nearby by trading stations throughout the 30-minute training session. One minute is spent on a piece of strength-training equipment built for feminine frames and designed to work two opposing muscle groups with a single movement. Exercisers then move on to a recovery station, where they run, jog, or dance to maintain heart rates and keep platforms in place during momentary losses of gravity.
