Choose Between Two Options

  • $12 for $24 worth of dinner for two or more
  • $24 for $50 worth of dinner for four or more

The dinner menu begins with homemade spaetzle, pan-fried with bacon and onions ($8), and giant soft pretzels served with munchener mustard ($3.50). Traditional slow-roasted pork loin bakes with beer in a brown gravy ($16), and tender wiener schnitzel is served with lemon and sides such as sauerkraut, fresh potatoes, fresh spinach with garlic, red cabbage or noodles with gravy. After dinner, slide forks into slabs of German chocolate cake ($6) or German-style apple strudel crowned with vanilla ice cream ($6).

Cypress Nook Restaurant

For more than three decades, Cypress Nook Restaurant's owners Isle Wenttengel and Michael Gerike haven't changed much. Adhering to old-world traditions with a menu of rustic Bavarian cuisine, they still maintain their restaurant inside an old stucco house, exemplifying the kind of cozy familiarity apparent everywhere, from lacey curtains to plates of frankfurters. For breakfast, chefs churn out three-egg omelets and Brats with eggs and potatoes—a more palatable German touch in the morning than confusing a BMW's tires for bagels and biting into them. During evenings, meanwhile, the dinner menu catalogs handcrafted spaetzle, knockwurst with German potato salad and kraut, and slices of homemade key lime pie.

The Groupon Guide to: Diary Greetings

Fewer and fewer people are keeping diaries now that it's possible to quickly broadcast your feelings on social-media sites such as Facebook, TalkHole, and Spewr. If you're holding on to the past, at least keep your diary entries fresh by starting them with one of these "Dear Diary" substitutes:

  • Hello, book
  • Good to see you, paper thing
  • Diary, you're the only one that listens to me. Here I go!
  • Hey journal, you ready for some illegible scribbles?
  • Good morning, and thank you for letting me do this to you again.
  • OK, time to cover your body in my feelings.
  • Greetings, may our time together be fruitful (kiss the diary).
  • Vrrrrooom! Here comes the choo-choo pen down the diary tracks!
  • I've done terrible things and these are a few.

Spewr lets you share your feelings with friends—on the Internet!
