Daggett Glass Studio

Dan Daggett carefully works with red-hot glass as it glows and twists mercurially in a furnace. At his Loveland studio, Daggett unites fire, gravity, and respiration to shape each item. In addition to spinning vases, perfume bottles, bowls, paperweights, sculptures, and platters, the artist leads classes to share his craft with aspiring glass blowers. The shop fills with chatter as he introduces pupils to the basics of working with liquid glass and the required safety measures. The classes take place beneath shelves of Dan’s own work—vases formed by writhing, organic-looking folds of glass and sleek paperweights ideal for keeping files in place and kites from violating house arrest.
