Before Black Fridays and back-to-school sales were invented, buyers resorted to haggling and Super Soaker holdups to coax decent deals from sellers. Shop through a less stressful sale with today’s Groupon to the Dallas Sample Sale Preview on Thursday, November 11, at the Dallas Market Hall, a mammoth meeting place that tosses vendors and buyers together like imaginary numbers in a time-traveling lottery machine. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., visitors get a private preview of the sample sale’s low-priced toys, apparel, furniture, jewelry, and more. During the event, Booker T. Washington’s choir will fill the air with sonic goodwill while holiday refreshments, such as the tears of naughty children, are made available for shopping breaks. Parking at the venue is free.

The Groupon Guide to: Summer’s Coming Attractions
It’s summer-movie season (summer), meaning it’s time to grab your popcorn and don your 4-D movie senso-suit and hit the cinema. Here are some upcoming summer flicks you won’t want to miss:
Steppenwolf: School’s out, and rebellious teen Corey’s new stepdad is a wolf! Will summer be a flop, or will this unlikely duo team up to save the community pool from cat burglars? Based on Hermann Hesse’s classic novel.
Pixar Presents: Objects!: Sentient objects must grapple with their unexplainable existence.
Dolephant: Is it a dolphin? Is it an elephant? It’s voiced by comedian Don Rickles and it’s coming this fall.
Car vs. Car 3: Rio Race Off: In the third installment of this popular drag-racing series, the fast car racers use their fast car-racing skills to steal an expensive beach, but the local police have plans of their own.
Thomas: Prepare to fall in love with this titular canine troublemaker, who will spend 90 minutes winning your heart and 3 minutes breaking it with society’s standard, agreed-upon dog-movie ending.
