Which dance is a recommended for absolute beginners like me (someone who doesn’t dance at all)? I don’t know enough about the different dances to figure out which class to try, and my goal is to learn how to dance AND to lose weight. I thought the “Toning Your Body” program fits this bill, but it’s not included in the schedule for March 8. Will this be offered in the next set of classes?
Are we to pick one dance style for the four weeks or are we able to take as many classes as we would like for four weeks?
Could I buy just one for me and my fiance as my partner or do I have to buy another one?
Does anyone know how the schedule work? Will we have a class the same time/date every week, or can we just join any 4 Beginner I classes anytime? The problem is my girlfriend and have unpredictable schedules and cannot commit to every night in advance… Thanks
i’ve taken classes at the NJ location before – my friends and I took swing, samba and two salsa classes. the classes are each week, same time and day, for four weeks.
I bought a $55 for 4 class package “deal” at Dance with Me studio from lifebooker.com about 2 weeks ago. Can I still buy & use this groupon?
If you bought the deal on Lifebooker.com you can still buy it at Groupon.com. It’s two different websites so we allow it.
We recommend you stick to a set schedule for 4 weeks. After the 4 weeks you can change the schedule. We don’t recommend drop in classes because we have structured 4 week courses. If you have any questions, feel free to call (201)941-7797 but make sure to specify which studio you are calling about.
If you want to come to the classes with your Fiancee then you need to buy 2 Groupons. Its 4 classes per person.

This week we are running a promotion where all new students receive a free 30 minute introductory private lesson. You can call the studio at (212)840-3262 to set that up. Any Beginner Level class will be good for you. The most popular dance I would say is the Salsa. The Toning Your Body is a less expensive class which is why we didn’t include it here.

Jones, Matheo- You DO pick 1 style and progress throughout the 4 weeks. – 1 style, once a week for 4 weeks.

What are the start and end dates of the 4 week sessions? It doesn’t say this on the group schedule online.
This looks like it could be fun – I have always wanted to take Salsa classes as my latin husband doesn’t want to go dancing as he thinks I am a bad dancer. But my question is are most people attending the class as couples or are there a lot of single people there? Are there enough single men and women to pair up well?

It varies from semester to semester. We usually do a partner roation in the class since we in the ballroom dancing industry in general there are more females than males. It is impossible to say right now, but rest assured at the least you will be able to dance with a professional dance teacher. If you have any other question you can call (212)840-DANCE (3262)
On the fine print it says reservation required. do i need to reserve a spot for myself each week and reserve a spot for the class parties?
are the friday night social parties included in the four dance socials?
I was just wondering what styles of dance are included in this offer. Is it any of the $98 styles/classes on your website? All of them don’t seem to be in the schedule that is posted. If the style I want isn’t being offered for this semester do I just wait until the next semester? Thanks :)
If a friend already bought you this groupon as a gift and I already purchased one on my own. Am I allowed to use both?
I imagine that most classes will be female dominated…. so, as a woman, if I do not bring a partner, will I be paired with another student, potentially/probably female?

No the socials that are included are either Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday. The Friday and Saturday parties are separate from the group classes. If you have any question feel free to call (212)840-DANCE (3262).

Important question: We have to register by September 5, correct? Not complete the course by then?
It says “Limit 1 per person, may buy multiple as gifts.” I was able to buy 2 (not as a gift), hopefully the transaction went through correctly. The system allowed me to punch in 2 and it calculated at $90.
Just curious, what is the point of limiting 1 per person, but then allowing multiple purchases as gifts?

Serena – You can buy as many as you’d like under your name – but only use 1 for you. You can gift your remaining Groupon to a friend even with your name on it, OR use the “buy as a gift” feature where the Groupon will have your friend’s name on it.

Even as most dancing classes could be female dominated and as Eugene D. says that the “in the ballroom dancing industry in general there are more females than males” I wouldn’t worry about it. I real life dance clubs (at least for Salsa dancing) there are always more men than women who are eager to dance. So give it a try because once you go to a club you will wish for more time to seat down to rest from all the dancing… with guys!

I’m new to Groupon, but I think the marketing language could be improved to say, “May buy multiple under your name or as gifts, but can only be redeemed one per person.”
Something like that.
