Silencing collection calls and burying bank statements in the backyard won't fix financial faux pas. Learn to pull yourself out of the red with today's penny-pinching Groupon. For $25, you'll get admission to Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover LIVE on Saturday, January 30, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Reliant Arena.
The five-hour, high-energy presentation will get you fired up about finance. New York Times best-selling author Dave Ramsey's tried-and-true methods demystify money, offering honest answers for digging out of debt. During the presentation, you'll learn how to create a plan, save, and confidently invest.
Money is one of the few things that everyone wishes they had more of and that everyone needs, because it makes excellent kindling. Student loans, layoffs, and careless credit-card swiping could all be polluting your financial health like a lake polluted with thousands of nickels. That is why Dave Ramsey preaches using debit cards instead of credit cards to purchase this Groupon and other stuff you purchase, and hand towels instead of dollar bills for vending machines. Dave's upbeat and upfront attitude breaks down how to build up your bank, so you'll leave inspired and motivated. Get this Groupon for your couch-hopping cousin, always-broke best friend, or in-debt intern.

The Atlantic recently featured an article on Ramsey:
- He is so serious about shunning debt that his Web site takes only debit cards; try to pay with a Capital One Visa, and the system rejects the card, then tut-tuts at you. – Megan McArdle, Atlantic

- Very motivating when it comes to finances. Makes you think about tomorrow instead of living for today. – mchamma, RateItAll
- Too bad this program is not required listening for everyone from the age of 8 to 80. If it were, we would not find ourselves in this sad financial situation, personal, and governmental. – Melchat, RateItAll
Groupon Says
National Money Makeover
Today's Groupon is a money makeover for your personal money, but why not take this unbeatable concept and apply it to money as a whole? Here are some ways we could update our currency:
- Replace all presidential portraits on bills with photos of Bea Arthur.
- Make quarters more collectible by printing codes for free Pepsi on some of them.
- Embed an audio chip in bills that plays "Mony, Mony" when squeezed.
- Prove aphorism-writers wrong by finally allowing money to purchase happiness.
- Abolish our groundless fiat currency system and return to the gold standard. Also, allow homemade dollars to be used.
