Questions and Answers

Hi, I am interested in buying the 6 month membership option but the June 5th expiration concerns me. Even if I buy the Groupon now, I might now be able to actually start coming to your facility until February 2013. In that case will I be allowed to complete my 6 months until July 2013 without any additional charge? Also, I am mainly interested in the heated pool. Do I have access to the heated pool anytime during the day so that I can exercise in the pool by myself? Or do I have to participate in one of the classes? Looking at the Aqua Schedule on your website it seems like you have classes on most weekdays in the morning and afternoon. So does that mean that I cannot use the pool to exercise by myself during those hours when classes are being conducted? Kindly clarify. Thanks

As long as you bring in the Groupon to redeem it before June 5th 2013, we will give you the full 6 months from the date you bring it into the club. If you want to work out by yourself you would have to go in the pool when there is not a class taking place as the classes are very full and use the entire pool. There is a shallow end area in the lap pool that is always available, but that pool is only heated to 80 degrees versus the aqua therapy pool which we keep at 88 degrees.

I entered my order to purchase this groupon. Later, it said I needed to update my credit card information. I did. It said the order was updated. Does that conclude the process. or do I need to "purchase" again. I only needed one order.

Unfortunately this is a technical question for Groupon that I cannot answer. If you have a printout with a barcode and more importantly if the money has been taken from your account then it should work. They send you an email with a barcode and that is what you bring to us in order to redeem, so if you have that then I think it worked, again you may need to contact Groupon technical support in order to be sure.

If I purchased this Groupon for my husband, could my 16 year old daughter be considered the "child" and get to use all of the gym amenities?

Julie G. asked 5 months, 20 days, 6 hours, and 41 minutes ago - 1 answer

Ryan D.

Once a child turns 14 they are considered an adult according to our rules and regulations. Children cannot use equipment and can only use the pools and basketball court under adult supervision, so you would need to purchase a separate Groupon for your 16 year old in order for them to have access to The Davis Athletic Club.

I was interested in giving this groupon for christmas, which the expiration date is 6/5/13, however, they actually won't be able to use until after 12/25/12, does it go 6 months after that date?

Danae K. asked 5 months, 20 days, 9 hours, and 36 minutes ago - 1 answer

Ryan D.

You can redeem the Groupon anytime before June 5th 2013, and the membership will run from the date you bring it into the club. The date you purchase does not matter, if you purchase the 6 month option, then the membership will be active for 6 months from the date the recipient brings it to The Davis Athletic Club.

I would like to buy this deal for a christmas present but I notice the expiration date is June 5th, if we do not use it until December 26th, does the six months start from that date?

Danae K. asked 5 months, 20 days, 9 hours, and 46 minutes ago - 1 answer

Ryan D.

You have until June 5th of 2013 to redeem here at our facility, if you purchase the 6 month option that means you will have 6 months from the date of redemption. So December 26th is well within the alloted time to redeem and receive the full term you purchased.

I would like to buy this Groupon as a surprise Christmas present for my wife and duaghter. Neither are members of DAC, nor have they been for some long time, but I don't remember how long. May I purchase this Groupon for my wife Robbie Murphy (adult) and for Meaghan Murphy (age 16)? Reply: davidj.murphy@sbcglobal.net.

I do not see either one of those names in our computer system, so they should have no trouble redeeming.

I have had a free week trial membership. Can I still use this groupon?

carrie t. asked 5 months, 20 days, 13 hours, and 23 minutes ago - 1 answer

Ryan D.

The free week trial does does not prevent you from using the Groupon, but if you have had an active, paid for account at any time in the last 24 months, you will not be eligible for this Groupon

What is the age limit for a child?

phyllis asked 5 months, 20 days, 11 hours, and 32 minutes ago - 1 answer

Ryan D.

Children under the age of 13 are included in their parents memberships for the limited activities they may partake in. Children aged 13 and above may use their own Groupon membership and use all of the facilities the same as adults. With anyone under 18 we will need a legal guardians signature on the waiver prior to initial usage.
